Can more smaller type maps be made?

Postby kerntheconkerer on Wed Jan 09, 2008 3:26 pm

For those that actually make maps, I would like to say that (IMO) there should be more smaller sized maps. It seems like there are a bunch of big ones that are not very good for short games. Please make more,

age of realms both might and magic are big maps and yet any 1v1 can be over in 3-7 rounds.
it's not the size that matters it's the way you use it.

Even so I'd like to see more small maps as well. Which is why I've taken an interest in Shopping Center.

Don't now why people on here don't like being cooks, remember under siege: A former SEAL, now cook, is the only person who can stop a gang of terrorists when they sieze control of a US Navy battleship.

imo = in my opinion

with the more respectful version
imho = in my humble opinion

here's a very nice list:

in response to the actual point of this thread, I recognize that smaller maps are increasingly popular... Doodle Earth is a top five map these days, and the most played of my maps is Duck & Cover, which I put together on a whim!

to get back on track here

I think Drug War will be another fast play. Not as fast as doodle earth, but maybe close to madness?

I think the number of small maps should probably rival the number of huge maps. Currently I think we have about the same amount of each.

madness can be a real long player due to the toilets and everyone can attack everyone else...

hell I am still playing the 'inaugural game' six weeks on.

 true.
madness leads to long long games.

aside from that inaugural game mibi is talking i have played 8 other games.

4 flat rates with 4 players lasted between 32 and 41 rounds.
and i have 4 escalating going that are all in round 8 but no end is in sight. it it were classic it would have been over by now.
