The Feudal War Map

Is that map unbalanced, or is it just me?

I'm in the middle of the map, the technically easiest target, but I'm ahead in armies and territories.

And that is true, I hadn't taken them into account...

Nope, the mapmaker (gimil) put a lot of thought into the neutrals to balance out the playing field.

And that is an awesome game, its so funny.

Anyway, what is the mapmaking tool?
And is it free?

There is no specific tool for map making, you have to make an image from scratch.
The best one is Photoshop, but its expensive.

The best free one is either Inkscape or GIMP. Look at the Map Making Tools thread for info on how to get those.

This map is unbalanced for a 2 player trench game. One of the players starts at the top of the map, the other in the middle. Which means that the player in the middle have easy access to the bottom part while the top player is stuck. I have not tried this in 2 player normal game, but I am sure the results would be the same.
