Accused:

miltiades
xxxxxxx
xxxxxxx

The accused are suspected of:

Being Multis
Conducting Secret Diplomacy
Severe PM Abuse
Other: <Intentionally throwing a game>

Game number(s):

Game 12415689
[game]xxxxxxx[/game]
[game]xxxxxxx[/game]
[game]xxxxxxx[/game]

Comments: miltiades attacked a 30 stack of mine in round 12 when he had absolutely no chance of eliminating me or anyone else. In doing so he left himself easily small enough for orange to eliminate without cashing, thereby intentionally giving the game to orange. I have no reason to believe that orange was part of this, but the purpose is obvious--lose five or so fewer points. It's cheap ass cowardly play--typical for cc. This kind of crap is a big part of the reason I'm not paying to keep playing on this site. Too many players with like this. I'm sure nothing will be done about it because nothing ever is.

Nor should it. When one has no chance of winning, and no option to suicide or withdraw, the only sensible course is to limit the damage.
It's not sporting as an opening gambit but I see no rule break by doing it.
Can you honestly say that if you're in a game with a cook and a conqueror, and at the point where you have no hope of winning, that you wouldn't attack the cook?

Yes, I can honestly say I wouldn't. I have never done that. You get outplayed, lose like a man. And it is against the rules, albeit the "unwritten ones". Maybe you've never read them:

"Unwritten Rules: Obviously any gross abuse of the game is forbidden. This includes but is not limited to: throwing games or deliberately benefiting from thrown games."

To be fair, not even miltiades approves of his play. He has apologized and said he was drunk. And paid for me to be premium again. I didn't want that. Maybe the mods can refund his money.

My point is that you're in the situation where you've already clearly lost. You're not throwing the game, because it's already gone. It's your turn. You have 1 region left, and opponents on either side of equal strength, but you have 5 nuclear spoils so you have to use them. Maybe you can put a dent in a bonus region for either of them, and perhaps influence the outcome of the game, but you can only attack one of them. Why would it be good strategy to attack the cook?

That is not at all the scenario we're talking about. I'm talking about suiciding into the lead player to hand the game to someone else. It is throwing the game because it is determining the outcome (which is not yet certain). To me this kind of play makes a mockery out of the entire game. Why bother playing, strategizing, setting up the board when in the end some guy is just going to throw all of that hard work and planning out the window? There's no point in playing if people are going to do things like this.
