One of the last things I see, on the small map the 'F' in Finland is slightly obscured by the army shadow.

First thing I noticed the arctic ice cap is not very realistic! Does not reflect state of ice in summer or winter.

Also, you do not show the names of the seas!

I'm getting from the map you are not at all familiar with the area but you think it would be really cool to have a map of the Arctic!

You may have already seen this link.

Check out the archives too, for state of the ice in the different seasons.

Perhaps you could do Arctic ice cap during winter as a way to make it more accurate/interesting and avoid the wheel effect?

There could be non-continental areas that are 50% ice, where hard-hulled ships can travel - such as the Berring Sea, Greenland/Iceland area.

ok, this dude is a NERD!! you just joined the site and you are posting things that dont make any sense. read all of the thread before you post anything. There was a big discussion between big ice caps or small ones, and the big ones won.

Also, you have way too much free time to be looking up ice caps on the internet. who just does that anyways.

On a serious note, i think this map is ready to go. Andy, do what you do best and lets get this map up and running.

its not the Coke bear... :D Don;t think copywright will be a problem mate. Don't worry. I had a quick browse of the site and they're just pics someone emailed the guy, who runs tours with his wife. Not exactly Disney.

the coke bear is awesome. This map won't be the most beautiful map ever quenched, but it will be one of the more interesting ones.

i disagree. i find the map to be very visually appealing. yes it may be rather simple, but it all looks very clean, which i think is important for a map. color choice was excellent in my opinion, and the fading creates a nice effect.

more importantly, the map provides an interesting gameplay that is going to require new strategies.

cant wait for the quench!

Yes, it's not a beautiful map but I agree with Lt.Mustard, it is still visually appealing. It is simple, clean and easy to understand without any uneccessary clutter or confusion.
