Answers of the suggestions of Marvaddin:

1st, the image is not too small. Tthe circles are tested in the XML Reader of the Conquer Club. And the circles will fit in the countries.

2nd, I will change the color of the names in the blue continent into white.

3rd, Look at he map Montreal. Some countries have also long names. Also you're map Brazil have some countries with long names, also map Space, etc.

4th, The're is an option to devide continent Zuid- en Oost-Nederland into continent Zuid-Nederland (6 countries) and continent Oost-Nederland (4 countries).

5th: Waddengebied is the country name of all 7 islands. It looks strange, but those islands have one circle. Is there someone who have an idea to make it clearer?

6th: That are the flags of Holland and Luxembourg. Belgium in the center is an option.

You could use that one for Luxembourg:

That's the one for the grand duchy.

No, that's the sign of the city Luxembourg, not the country Luxembourgh.

But thanks for you're suggestion.

Any feedback on this suggestion?

Also I don't know what all the fuss about the flags is about. Those are the original flags and that's what should be used. The flags don't affect gameplay or anything so leave them like they are in real life.

Marval If you have in mind to change the map, do it on this way:

1 - Add overijssel (Salland + twenthe) to Noord Nederland
2 - Get rid of the strange deviding of Drenthe
3 - And the waddeneilanden are what they are, a part of the two nothern countries of Noord-nederland, and no longer a separate country.

If you do it this way you have 5 countries in Noord-nederland and 8 in Zuid-oost-nederland.

And the islands of Zeeland must be one country, the same as on the real map of Holland, accept of the nothern island which belongs to country Zuid-Holland. Texel which actually belongs to Noord-holland will in this case be a separate country. So this continent then has 6 countries

Deviding Zuid-oost-nederland in 2 continents of 5 countries isn't a good idea because then you have 3 continents in row with 5 countries.

The extra bonus for holding the Amsterdam and Brussel is a good idea, but then we have to get rid of Brabant.

If you do it on this way then there are six contionents left, as on the classic world-map.

UPDATE 01

Postby MarVal on Sun Dec 24, 2006 2:10 pm

UPDATE 01

Below the latest development of the map BeNeLux. Look at the first topic to view the map BeNeLux. The most of the suggestions that were mentioned:

- Luxembourg only 1 extra armies instead of 2.
- Belgisch Brabant only 2 extra armies instead of 3.
- West-Nederland 6 extra armies instead of 5.
- Occupying the cities of Amsterdam, Bruxelles and Luxembourg (Stad) 1 extra army.
- White text on Zuid- en Oost-Nederland.
- River between Veluwe / Achterhoek and Betuwe.
- Waddengebied looks now as 1 continent.
- Combine Noord-Limburg and Zuid-Limburg into Limburg.
- Combine Noord-Drenthe and Zuid-Drenthe into Drenthe.
- Extra country for continent Vlaanderen, named Brugse Ommeland
- Extra country for continent La Wallonie, named Mons.

So let us know what U think about the map BeNeLux so far.

No MarVal, that is the coat and arms of the grand Duchy (the country of Luxemburg). Using the Flemisch Lion, The Walloon Rooster and the Dutch Lion would make things a bit clearer and would at the same time confirm the political realities in Belgium (Federal state, comprising both Flanders and Wallonia)

Coat of arms

Postby MarVal on Wed Dec 27, 2006 6:08 pm

So, you're advice is the coat of arms of two countries (the Netherlands and Luxembourg) and two territories (Flemisch and Walloon) instead of the three national flags of Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg?

Only must Belgium divide in two coat of arms? Is the're no coat of arms of Belgium?
- If its an yes; why don't we use that,
- or its a no; will that be logical and clearness for non-Western Europe Conquers of the Club?

Because its the map of BeNeLux and that are the countries of Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. And not the territories of Flemisch and Walloon separate of BeNeLux?
I think the map is not made for politic statements and so on. The map is for playability, funfactor, and so on.

Everybody can see already in the legenda of the map that Belgium is devided in two big territories, Vlaanderen (Flemisch) and La Walonnie (Walloon). Whats the surplus value too seperate Belgium in two coats of arms?

But I'm also human and might be wrong.
We shall see what others think of this subject.

Decide wich period of time you want the map to be on

In the past day's Willem the 3e was the monarch of Holland and Luxemburg, and the Belgian residents decided to live apart.

Keep the map exactly as it is, with the current divisions and coat of arms.

It is already accurate the way it is. Belgium is one country divided in regions like Wallonia and Flanders and that's how you have already done the map.

Besides I think the coat of arms are great as they are and anyway they don't affect the gameplay in any way so once again I don't see why people are making a fuss about them being similar. Heck even the flags of Russia and Holland or of Italy and Ireland are similar but that's life!

And yet again, i'd rather see 'kempen' (with a piece of limburg also) than now the extra continent 'brugse ommeland', in belgium, everyone knows 'de kempen' but not everyone knows 'het brugse ommeland'
