That's how the borders were at the time, I think. At least, that's how they were in an 1883 map I traced for this map.

I think this map is ready for the Final Forge, where the johnnie-come-latelys (and janie-come-latelys) can pose all the questions and suggestions that they should have posed in the Workshops.

Thanks ender.

WRT what MrB said, I can't find the full-size map I traced as it's on my old computer, but I have the cropped & resized version which correlates with the map - perhaps some history/geography geeks can take a look at this and tell me if it has huge flaws:

I see no huge flaws, but I wanted to say I love the fact that it shows Buda and Pesth on either side of the Danube. I had heard of this origin of the name, but I had never seen it on a map. Maybe you should make it twin territories?

I note that you have Thessalonica where this map has only Salonica.

Nah, there's no room for that...

Salonica is just an alternate name for Thessalonica, afaik.

But there's one flaw that I can see - I don't know how I only notice this now, but Corsica should belong to France. Should I make this change? France would have the same number of borders, but Italy would have one more border. And if I do this, should I increaes Italy's bonus?

Then again, AFAIK, Corsica is culturally closer to Italy...

I'd say move Corsica to France and leave Italy's bonus as it is IMHO.

Actually, wait... this would add a border to both France and Italy.

edit: well, according to my bonus calculator, I could do it without changing bonuses.

Sounds like the right thing to do. You could PM the Gameplay mods for confirmation. (I can never remember who is in charge of what.)

Servia and Montenegro were two different states. It was decided during the Congress of Berlin (1878). Your borders are correct.
And yes, Corsica belongs to France althought in those years it was more Italy than france (the french language was imposed by law  ). I think that your decision is good (also the values) but i've sent a PM to Evil DIMwit for a check, since he stamped the map for gameplay. ;)

Regarding the Corsican change: I think Italy is fine at 2, since it only has 4 territories now, but France's bonus can be increased to 4. Do you concur?

Are you taking in account that France has a terminus which gives a +1 autodeploy?

Although strictly speaking it's not a part of the france land bonus, but the stations are easy to hold if you already hold the land area...

Well, if you think it should be 4 regardless, I have no problem with increasing it.

I think increasing it to 4 is a good idea. For the land and rail monopoly in france, you have to protect 5 territories and currently get a bonus of 3+2 with an autodeploy of 1. Seems a little low...

Edit: compare this to A-H Empire where you have to protect 9 and get a bonus of 12 (but is MUCH easier to expand)
