I loved this ocean (a mix between hoff and freakshow), so Im seriously thinking about use it.

Route lines: light or dark? I vote for light.

Font? Well, I tried put some variations. I can try use that you all like the most, but first I need check for rooms... So, choose more than one, ok?

Edit: there are some minor problems caused by the jpg conversion. I believe they will not stay at png version.

I must admit that I love that ocean best. Well done.

No 5 looks the best. I'll also put in a vote for the Digos font.

Yeah, Ocean #5 is nice. Out of the fonts, I'm not especially enchanted with any of them, but I guess Digos or Mindoro might be the best of the group.

The light searoutes are more visible than the dark ones, but it might be even more easily visible if it were a thicker line, or in a color that contrasted more directly with the blue ocean (like yellow or orange).

light sea routes
the Digos font (most readable of the fancyish ones)
most recent water's cool
I like the ports you suggested, but I don't think they need to earn any bonuses. Maybe you could leave the green continent as an easy one to hold and instead put it's port in Tarlac or Aurora??? Maybe even move Quirino into Luzon?
Is cagayan a bit hard to spot?
well done

I don't know what it is about the map, but i find it difficult to look at. I don't know if i would be able to enjoy playing it. I think a possible improvement might be to make it less true to the real world and make some of the islands bigger. I'm not sure if that would really help or anything, but the map just feels very sparse. A lot of wasted space. Things could be a lot bigger and everything made a lot clearer if it were made more compact. Just a thought.
Maybe even sacrifice north being up and rotating the map so its not so tall. If the large version is 800 wide, then there will be a lot of scrolling involved.

Well, banana, if you can say me whats wrong with the graphs, maybe I can change them...

About the wasted space, wait!! I will put a legend, title, etc, some art like a compass rose, etc, so i think we will not have that much free space...

About scrolling, well, Im always scrolling to do each attack, so I really dont mind, do you?

I don't mean wasted space around the outside. i mean between countries. I know its islands, but do they have to be so far apart? The islands could be made bigger for the sake of making everying easier to see. Also, something about the graphics makes the islands look really far above the water. I'm sorry, i know i'm not being very specific, i'm not really sure what my problem with it is or how to fix it. Sorry, heh.

Another update. I used the choosen ocean, yellow route lines, double borders, choosen font, and added the ports. Of course, it has some problems caused by the jpg conversion. Of course, I will senf to lack the png version...

I will still put the circles... but for now I want to know: is it good until now? Any changes necessary?

Why not make islands like Cagayan bigger. The sea is huge around it and it can barely be seen.

Ok, for the next update I will:

1) Make Cagayan bigger... although its already bigger than its real size  Well not much bigger... I was thinking about use that space with a note about the ports. Did you like my anchors? They are from a Genesis game...

2) Re-position some names in blue continent, I would do it already... I was lazy of changing all names now.

3) Put a Malaysia part that will be at left bottom corner.

4) Dark it a bit.

5) Put the circles for numbers and legend.

But I would like to know: is yellow a good colour for route lines? Are the borders really difficult to see? And the names?

I'm still finding that the border lines in the purple and red continnets (and to a lesser degree, blue) don't really contrast well with the background coloring for those continents. Also, is it just me, or is there a distinct lack of anti-aliasing going on there? Things look a bit... jaggy.

I was going to mention that the graphics didn't look quite right... It does look a bit jaggy... And I still think the colours are a bit vibrant for that ocean...

How about different colours of text to fit with the continents they are all in? It just looks a bit bland with nothing really looking that great... And I agree with Jota...

Only for register, some of these minor problems you are talking about are caused by the jpg conversion.

Haydena is right about the ocean, maybe you should try decreasing the saturation a bit to help the islands stand out more. I'd also like to see you "physically" raise the islands a bit. It's easy in Photoshop with a light bevel/emboss, but I know you're not using that so...

Maybe you could add a 1px grey border to the islands, and then a 2px black border. This would give the illusion of them being slightly raised from the ocean and would help, I think, to reduce the flat appearance of the map in its current state. I agree that your borders should be much darker. Perhaps you could save your next copy as a .png so there's not as much degradation as with jpeg conversion?

Oh yes, and I think yellow is a fine color for the connections.

I don't know if it's just me, but I had difficulty finding the Port marker at Danao - it blends into the continent color too well.

Also, i don't know if there's anything that you can do about this, but the thick yellow lines connecting the countries make the map seem almost too busy.

Besides that, it seems pretty good for the stage that you're at!
