Yes thats rigth, and life isent allways fair nor is war, and as you dont know on wich side you start every time then you have no advantage to start a game on.

what i know is:
1vs1 is one player at each side
top of the map player starts 1st and wears red

the map is not necessarly unfair.what makes it unfair in 1vs1 is the same as most of 1vs1 games.Player who starts get advantage

That can be said for all maps. The big advantage with this map is in 1v1 you cannot attack your opponent right away.

From this statement it seems that if they did start on one side only (1 v 1) you would see it as a problem.

I know the map is way past beta, but I was just wondering. I thought this map was designed to be one of the best maps to play with the trench setting. I don't play the map often and just ran into it on a random 1 v 1. I just thought the ability to move directly from the plane and any 6 positions in the north compared to the plane and any 3 positions in the south gives the north a distinct advantage.

You don't have to agree or change anything I was just wondering if it was designed this way on purpose for any specific reason or if there was any advantage that the south has to balance out the advantage for the north.

in trench that gets a bit more obvious because the allways north starts 1st, so that advantage to attack the artillery directly should have been given to the south.

In a different prespective, central bonus and beaches are easier to get from the south, but its irrelevant because once u control the planes then is mostly game over, specially if u cat get artillery directly from the planes

2014-04-27 09:46:17 - aad0906 received 4 troops for holding PVH (Poul Von Hindenberg)

That should be Paul von Hindenburg

Does the Trench Warfare map always auto deploy even when the settings is in Manual?

it certainly does, as the start positions are set up with 3 troops each. this is in contrast to feudal war, which has no start positions coded.

ian. :)

Thanks. So I guess a Manual setting for this map is mute or not applicable for this map.

yep. there's an argument for excluding manual from the allowable settings for trench warfare.

Thanks. Maybe we could post it in the map's thread just for reference?

maybe this is a silly question but just playing 2 x Trench Warfare but setting is Trench so how can you get across to the opposition side?

territory that revert to neutral can be taken and you can still move on to the next, basically the « trench » attack is waived in killer neutral territory (that is for any map with such territory rule)
