Bones. They have bones.

Yea, but the muscles are wrapped around the bones. Using bones as impassbles would keep with the theme.

Diseased bits.

Interesting comments.

Here are my thoughts.

In terms of impassable barriers, I over-layed a skeleton over the map, and it just looks messy. I do however feel I have a solution. I can add fat deposits that would look similar to the fat that you get on the edge of a cut of beef. This way I can put the barriers on any edge and it will look good.

I do wonder if barriers are needed look at a map like "Conquer 4 Map". That has no barriers and it works.

In terms of the name for the Fly region. I am aware of the book "Lord of the Flies" and think it's a really cool name. Who wouldn't want to be the lord of the flies?
If possible I'd like to keep the name. Would I need to change it for legal reasons? As I understand the law I would be able to use it because it's a parody, but I'm no expert.

I am working on the XML code and wondered how much space do I need for the numbers? Foe example do I need to make space for a four digit number.

I will post a new version of the map soon.

Best Wishes,
Dana

With the impassables, I have been having the same argument in my thread (Knights) and see no reason why you should have them, but it can make for some interesting game options. Giving players a choice around the map would make for a better type of game. Make the right choice and you win the game, make the wrong choice and you may lose. I would say to put them in your map and using the fat is a great idea (use it). Will have a look at give you some suggestions on where to place your fat deposits.

As for Lord of the Flies, it is in the public domain so you can use it for anything. It is one of those phrases that is now part of normal vocab so it cannot be copyrighted.

These are between bonus zones.
Neck and chuck/shoulder
Brisket and Foreshank
Inner skirt/plate and standing rib
Top flank and tri tip
Rump and ox tail

These ones are inside bonus zones
Top neck and neck and cheek
Rib eye cap and back rib
eye of round and rump
chuck eye and chuck

That should give your players plenty of choices around the map. A thin layer of fat should not mess up the map too much. ;)

Hi dana1971

suggestion for impassables: butchers knifes that cut/slice in to the meat and creating wounds between the areas

Don't worry about the XML right now, as the map will go through plenty of changes by the time it gets into the Final Forge.

how the hell did many of my maps get through the process?
how the hell did chinese checkers get through?
same question can be ask of other maps
in my mind, it is simply thinking outside the square of land regions and applying that same principle of the game to another graphic idea.
if there is support for the idea then so be it :)

PS: and you know there may just be something educational in this...showing where all the different cuts of meat come from on a beast, if it sticks in players head about that, then i'd be inclined to think it is worthwhile :)

Is six pages bad or good? This is my first map, so I'm not experienced to know?

Pages don't count so much.
Posts content are more worthy of consideration. ;)

MOD EDIT : REMOVED UNFRIENDLY TEXT

Wow... I thought the point of CC or any game was to have fun. Sure fighting on a cow is a bit silly, but I think a lot of people, including myself, would find it fun. Think of all the cow jokes people are going to make.

There are some really creatively themed maps on CC that go beyond a traditional war theme, and I'd be honored if this was one of them.

Don't get me wrong I like the standard war theme, but as they say variety is the spice of life and a new theme can't be bad if the game play is good. There are a few non war themed maps on CC and I'd like to see more. It's fun :)

PS if I'm lucky enough to get it published I promise not to force you to play it. :)

Don't worry it's not maps get done only if thenobodies80 wants them.
If people want it, people will have it. This is how it works. ;)
Simply I don't get it. I'm sorry, but I like to speak frankly to people. That's just my personal opinion.

Yes I read what you wrote...and i am not saying it is not allowed for you to express your opinion about the map being a bad idea...i was simply giving a counter opinion that is neither in favour or not in favour of the map, but says that if there is support then let it continue, afterall it may just be another "fad" that goes through this place evry now and then.

I certainly wouldn't be telling the mapmaker not to waste their time on the premise of other attempts (as this attempt may prove successful) or whether you though it was a bad idea or not.

Imo you really shouldn't need a supersize for this one.

The way that short ribs border connects to the territories above it is a problem. There's a 4 corners connection between it and the surrounding territories. One of those territories border needs to be staggered so that it is clear where all the connections are.

I think there is more than enough room for a map like this on CC.

Doodle Earth faced an immense up-hill battle (and I contributed to that up-hill battle at the time), but I'm glad the C.A.s and I didn't try to stop the development of it!
