Sparkles on the diamonds

Not liking them. Try to lower the opacity on them. The sparkles are only light and should be able to see through them.

Opacity lowered to 80% with ADD transaparency operation...any lower than that and they become invisible.
For effect, i think being able to see through them is not important, what is important is the effect given :) slight as it is!

I love the sparkles! I saw koontz post and was bummed because I thought they were going to go away but then noticed they had already been changed. Now I just wonder if I would have liked them when they were sparklier. I guess I will never know. :D

i'm going to pull u up on spelling again! sevemoe tushino ought to be severnoe tushino. i suspect that meshchanskoye is actually meshchanskoe if u use the same transliteration method as for the other names that have the -skoe ending. tverskoe is tverskoy, segovoy is almost certainly begovoy, while presnensoe is probably presnenskiy.

the text for mostilmovskiy isn't lined up properly on the small map, so that the second mo is slightly higher than the v that follows it.

ian. :)

I don't think it is untidy. and since most often that is the way abbreviations are noted...i think they're OK.
otherwise do you have an alternative suggestion ?

the numerous abbreviation dots remain a minor irritant, though i can live with them. the only suggestion i have is to remove the dots, in the fashion of Qld for queensland, NSW for new south wales and UK for united kingdom.

the sparkle effect on the diamonds is a nice touch.

ian. :)

Shame i can't pull you up for not having picked these up long ago...and why they're not all given at once rather than in dribs and drabs. for you eh?!

Many of these as you know are taken from another reference map.
So there is always going to be discrepancy on what you want and what mapmakers put on their maps when referred to from other people's work.

sevemoe tushino ought to be severnoe tushino.
This one is a reading error from the other map - the close font letters are repsonsible.
Fixed.

tverskoe is tverskoy,

Changed.
segovoy is almost certainly begovoy,

Fixed.

while presnensoe is probably presnenskiy.
yes if you look at google...but who says google is correct :?:
changed

the text for mostilmovskiy isn't lined up properly on the small map, so that the second mo is slightly higher than the v that follows it.

fixed.

No, Meschanskiye is correct...according to google

you forgot to look at Basmannoe...should be Basmannyy according to google
and Krasnoselskoe should be Krasnosel'skaya according to google.
and Bogorodskoe should be Bogorodskoye according to google.
and Taganskoe should be Taganskiy according to google.
and Sokolniki should be Sokol'niki

Quick. let's all go over to google maps to make sure out maps are all correct from now on ;)

ian, let's not keep going round in circles with the dots. I want them there, you can live with that, so let's get over your minor irritation.
as for your references for qld nsw etc. they can also be used with dots....e.g n.s.w. and u.k.
I think you're being pendantic for pendantic sake.

the sparkle effect on the diamonds is a nice touch.
ian. :)

ah! wonderful you find some positive.

NO, i wrote you that Moscow was wrapped up...remember this in the PM i sent you....
Moscow is dusted and ready for checking,

It is awaiting checking in the xml thread.

As for the above attachment, who knows what causes that unless there is some sort of expiry on it, so it is attached below.

PS. Seems that function has been deactivated...so this now becomes a high up issue.

Hello (again) cairns, and nole:

1) Meshchanskiy on map, Meshchanskoye in XML (not going to guess which is right,) Same with inner territory.
2) This is only a matter of preference, but regarding the bonus Tsentralny, perhaps put this: Tsentralny Without Inner Ring instead of just Without Inner Ring. Same with Inner, but again it's a matter of preference...I think it'd be weird to see "Gilligan received 8 armies for holding Without Inner Ring", just a bit awkward.

Other than that, looks good.

Only a very small suggestion before to post a final call for this one:
You might have forgotten to delete a couple of borders where they cross the river.

Image

Image

As said just a few pixels thing. O:)

Also this border looks thicker if compared with the others of the same type, but I don't mind if you don't want to change it. ;)
