CURRENT UPDATE INFO - 2012-12-19:
- Removed bridge at Heshbon and Dibon, and shortened the river.
- Hand drew the "Jordan River" text on both maps.

Also, BluU, thanks for the comments. I couldn't however find anything that put Jericho in Judah during the time I'm mainly basing the map on, but has it in Benjamin. Also, Gath is part of Judah, and relatively correct geographically. I'm not sure updating the names makes much difference since it is all correct. If that is not the case let me know.

OK.

All looking fine, but sorry for this, I am still having problems with the colours for the impassable rivers. They seem very bright compared to the rest of the colours.

Oh koontz, common. Rimmon purple is even brighter than the rivers, and so is Shiloh red. I really think you're grabbing at straws that are imaginery.
Seamus, i have no prob wih the colours but up to you if you beleive this koontz guy. :)

 Yeah, I think he's had a few too many eggnoggs. I'll check it out, but I don't think they look too bright either.

It's not the brightness compared to the glows that throws me, it is the colour compared to the rest of the background image. Paper is a flat matt while the impassable water has the gloss look to it. Even the dead sea territs have a better colour than the impassables, which is also the same colour as the Mediterranean. Either way, the colour needs to go flatter and adding a rivers width to the Med will make it look impassable and not another territ.

I kinda agree with koontz here. The impassibles are really blue in comparison with the rest of the map. Something lost for the continuity in the map. I think you'd do better with a very much more muted color.

by a river's width, u mean a blue inner glow for the med, which ought to be the same colour as the impassable rivers and not as the dead sea territories?

ian. :)

Correct. Right now, the Med is the same colour as the dead sea. Make it the same colour as the impassables.

Bring the glow on the dead sea up a tad and you will have a winner.

Impassable legend, make the river the same as the ones on the map. Right now it has a thinner line.

I don't understand the borders on the dead sea regions.

Do they connect to each other?

Does dead sea 1 border Ein-gedi and/or Heshbon?

Yes, they connect to each other, as indicated by the arrows (I thought), and yes Dead Sea 1 borders both of those. Ein-gedi borders both 1 and 2.

Upon review, I feel that the Hesbon/Dead sea 1 border is the only one which isn't clear enough.

Ok, cool. I'll move the Dead Sea lines and arrows down just a bit, and turn that border line upwards so that there is more space to indicate it does not attack Dead Sea 2. Thanks MB.

Sorry, what I mean is this:

Heshbon - a part of the Simeon bonus on the right of the sea - is touched by the river, which goes directly into Dead Sea 1.

Does Dead Sea 1 therefore border Heshbon?

I know a river isn't the same as a sea, but the river/sea outline is one.

Ok, I understand now. I think most, if not all players, will recognize that impassables, as listed in the legend are not "playable" parts of any tert, including a water tert, etc. If you don't think that will be intuitively clear then one option would be to put a blue tert line at that river mouth, like there is at the top and bottom of the Dead Sea terts. I think that might look a little odd, but if anyone else see's this as an issue I'll work on a solution.

The only major thing that bothers me here is the frame around the map, and the white layer that's a part of it. Make that bottom layer be transparent and you should be good.

On that note... the regions that are adjacent to the edge of the map, why are they framed? I think that's what bugging me the most as I think about it, the whole map is extremely boxy and regimented. The frames interrupt the flow of the entire map.

The very bottom layer should be the same color as the CC gray so that it blends in and only the map parchment is visible. This is same thing I used for Tribal War - Florida, but it looks like somewhere along the line it became a little lighter. I'll make sure it's changed to what it should be.

As for the "frame", I'm not sure what to say other than that's what's looked best for my parchment "antique'ish map" style I like to use. My first thought would be to tone down the overall opacity of all of the border lines so they aren't so bold. The other option I guess would be to remove top, right, and bottom border lines, having only the one that runs along the Med (next to the legends). The parchment edge would then become tert edges.

Are there other options? Thoughts?

A couple of quick points from me.
River ending at Mt Halak. The black line that is the bonus border goes into the river. Erase the end of line.
Bottom right legend. The capital F in if is lower than all over text. Can you move the letter up.
