well you shouldnt choose the easy option but rather the option that will make the map look its best :?

That is not what I meant.

I meant ...
1)an issue was put forth.
2)Options were presented.
3)and a quick consensus was made.

That was easy. :D

              Final Forge

---The Indochina REVAMP has reached the ‘Final Forge’ Stage. I've revived this thread from the pits of the Foundry furnace and have examined the contents. Nearly every major concern has been addressed. If there are any other current concerns, please make your voice heard. If after a reasonable amount of time there has not been any objection or protest, the map will be deemed finished with the 'Foundry Brand' of approval and will be submitted for live play. As long as there is still discussion or posts that have yet to be commented on, the map will remain in Final Forge until said discussion has reached the conclusion that the map has reached its final and polished version.

Post questions and concerns if any.

When making the map I did not want the lat/long lines to overpower the rest of the map. They are actually 1/2 a pixel wide (when I made them in Illustrator). They are blurry because of anti aliasing. I can make them less blurry (wider) but then I feel they are too overpowering.

Any other comments on the lat/long lines? Should I try to adjust them?

When the process slows down, unriggable, it usually means the community is starting to get statisfied. :) That's not to say the map won't rot here in FF like all the others though. ;)

the map is fine, dont change anything else, and with the addition of army circles, it would take away from the visual appeal WM has worked so hard to maintain thus far.

quench it and play it

something bothers me, the effect from indochina to the dead land is a shade like its floating on it, thats great. but then, the effect of indoschina to the sea... it looks to me like the sea is higher than the land

I toned down the opacity of the inner glow with noise in the dead area. I think that helps a lot. Plus I lowered the ocean gradient as well.

The playable area still slightly sticks out. But it is no longer really drastic. The dark black glow of the previous version was too much.
