Some of the territory names are hard to read on the small map (such as Mondulkiri)

Both of these points are valid issues. When I was designing the map, I wanted it to look as realistic as possible. Most maps have tons of black lettering overlapping and crossing borders. Or the maps are 24" x 36" and there is a lot more room.

I chose to make the text smaller so it would not overlap borders or other texture outside each territory. and here is the reason. If I had black text overlapping black borders, the text would be unreadable. Then I would need to have a white outer glow or stroke under the text and that would take away from the feel.

Plus looking at the actual territory names, there are not a lot of names that are too similar. I mean Mondulkiri is unique enough that it will not be confused with other names.

Does that all make sense or am I wrong?
I guess a new font could be used but this one seemed to look quite good and I am not sure a new font would get rid of the overlap issue.

I don't understand what you mean.
*I can't center it in the middle of the page vertically.
*I cant center in in the page horizontally.
*And I can't center the text under INDOCHINA.

The legend was designed to be right justified along the right edge and follow the contour of the land on the map. There is really not a lot of adjustment possible.

I see what you mean now. Then there is the issue of it being to close to the Gulf of Tonkin text. I guess I could leave it out. I will remove that text, keep the text and move the legend closer and have the current pic. We can see what everyone thinks.

I really don't see the point in moving the legend. Everything is nicely spaced how it is and I wouldn't want to see the Gulf of Tonkin label removed.

Neither would I. But I said I would and here are the three maps. I still like the first one the best. I don't think there is that big of a difference between the current and C to warrant a change.

That is not what I meant.

I meant ...
1)an issue was put forth.
2)Options were presented.
3)and a quick consensus was made.

That was easy. :D

              Final Forge

---The Indochina REVAMP has reached the ‘Final Forge’ Stage. I've revived this thread from the pits of the Foundry furnace and have examined the contents. Nearly every major concern has been addressed. If there are any other current concerns, please make your voice heard. If after a reasonable amount of time there has not been any objection or protest, the map will be deemed finished with the 'Foundry Brand' of approval and will be submitted for live play. As long as there is still discussion or posts that have yet to be commented on, the map will remain in Final Forge until said discussion has reached the conclusion that the map has reached its final and polished version.

Post questions and concerns if any.

When making the map I did not want the lat/long lines to overpower the rest of the map. They are actually 1/2 a pixel wide (when I made them in Illustrator). They are blurry because of anti aliasing. I can make them less blurry (wider) but then I feel they are too overpowering.

Any other comments on the lat/long lines? Should I try to adjust them?
