V2 Update

Bonuses are not yet calculated, so please don't comment on all the 6s.

* I borrowed some elements from the original concept of RAIL USA re the Paris station.
* All stations now have their clocks
* Please read the destructions carefully - different station configurations in this map mean slightly different things in RAIL Europe.
* Back to the that fabulous blue and black background that WM conceived and was a big hit on the Rail USA map
* Found a decent font for the Bonus Board.

First time I have managed a large and small version 2.

So, you're saying the difference in attack style from this to USA is that Moscow North must go through Moscow middle in order to get to Moscow south?

You're moving along quite quickly I'd say. Very good. How do the side by side stations do with 3 digit army counts? (might as well get that out of the way sooner rather than later).

I guess the only thing left to do visually is actual rails instead of lines? (what's that slow down? well when you work so quickly we expect results!!!)

I'll wait to think about gameplay until you've put out a map with bonuses.

yes

edbeard. they shouldn't be a problem as these station boxes were lifted straight from the configuration of RAIL USA where that was sorted.

yes...luv the expectations, but the quenching won't be as fast. I have asked WM to supply rail lines and will advise him when I am ready to put them on. I don't want to do that just yet in case I have to modify station positions due to someone being discontent with attack plans.

I'll wait to think about gameplay until you've put out a map with bonuses.

I'll try and work the bonuses shortly in the next day or so.

i don't realy see a differce in this t othe USA one. i think for you to make this you need to make it look alot differnt... its just way to close to the USA one.

Thanks for your post Unit_2.
I developed the initial concept for both maps and there are subtle differences in the gameplay. There would be no objection anyway I'm sure if they were both the same as most of the maps in CC are the same gameplay just different geographies.
I can asure you if I have opportunity to do RAIL AUSTRALIA and RAIL ASIA and RAIL AFRICA, there will also be some subtle differences, but I think it is important that having developed a winning formula for RAIL USA in the graphics, we continue that to some extent in these similar themed maps. That is my intention anyway.
And I am sure there will be no objection from the European collegues to have a home-based version of a theme. I don't think the USA holds a monopoly on any theme, do you?

Marketing....there is nothing better than a picture to advertise. People can see a text link but not use it. If they see a picture they like, they will go in search of it, and perhaps find other interesting things on the way. How many times have you done this in surfing the net. Unfortunately, CC doesn't give a lot of space to do this in one's signature block to make the links also, so i choose to use the pictures, and this also allows people to note there has been changes to the maps as they develop. :)

A sneaky suggestion - but for the clocks - why don't you make them read different times - in accordance with their Time Zones... I guess this suggestion could be made for Rail USA?!

Thanks yeti_c
As most of the timetables are available for MOST of the routes including the first Orient Express, I will be adjusting the clocks to read those times in each city.
It has been done on the USA map already I beleive. :)

I see you got some good bonussen for a quick look, althou 1 thing, you call the railroad of Paris - Brussels - Amsterdam - Hamburg (Copenhagen too?) the "Brabant Express", me being from belgium and thus the neighbourhood know that Brabant is a small region, around Brussels. perhaps another name? Like "Benelux express"?

Thanks for that onbekende. I got that name from a railway timetable of a journey that run from Paris to Amsterdam ( I extended it for gameplay to Hamburg), but your suggestion is very good and I will change it to Benelux Express next version.

could you add the colours to the Brussels station? It just makes it easier to look at bonuses and such.

One thing I have noticed is that the Copenhagen to Hamburg appears to be the only place where two different coloured rails connect by rail instead of stationwise. It's probably not bad, but just thought I'd point that out to give you some trouble! Well actually wanted to make sure it was on purpose.
