speaking of which I'll let him know about the car colour suggestion and 'attak' spelling error

My Stats note that, but the peculiar thing is that Telvannia has only posted once in this topic, and never after he did the map's graphics. Very strange indeed...

how do you attack from one block to the next, its not mentioned anywhere in the legend.

we show the symbols and then say 'can attak similar symbols' right underneath.

otherwise i will.

btw one more thing, does the stick up man also bombard the main stash, since yu stated it can bombard 'any' stash. is this including the main stash?

as for the phones, do you mean every 2 phones gives +2, so 4 phones would mean +4 or still +2?

by the time you answered i just coded nearly the whole XML lol, oh well doesn't matter, i like writing XML anyways.

just need to do some territories and then i'm done.

i'll see how good the one you posted is.

hmm, your territory placement is way off.

i'll just finish the one i'm making but i am not sure if a will finish it today or tomorrow.

i already scripted more then 700 lines right now so that's pretty much.

actually, I don't like the way you've coded some of the continents.

You coded each muscle with 2nd or Leader so If I hold 2nd and 5 muscle it's going to show 5 different bonuses in the log. Whereas I've coded overrides so the log will only show 1 continent. EG: Mine will say Leader or 2nd and 5 muscle whereas yours will have five different lines.

Would you mind just using my code and making sure it's OK and doing the centering on that?


thanks for the work though. hopefully you don't mind just looking over mine instead. (I think a few of the numbers might be off since we've done a couple gameplay changes since I wrote it.)

i can do it your way too, however then it will show 'Player X gets Y armies for holding 'Leader or 2nd and Z Muscles'

in my way if you have the leader it will show 'Player X gets Y armies for holding Leader and Muscle'
if however you control the 2nd, it will show a whole list, that's because the override tags i needed to have all the 2nd 'continents' to have different names. so maybe i can change that to the way you did it. it will only never tell if you got the bonus for holding 2nd or Leader. they will both work, so it doesn't really matter. the only thing that will change is how it will be displayed in the logs.

i will use that part of the code, as well as your territories and the naming of your territories, however i will still use the rest of the XML i wrote, unless you see any other 'log issues'

the XML is so big you will have several options to put the Continent bonusses in the log, i just do it the way i would think that will fit best, but off course i can miss something like above, so if you see anything that needs to be changed, just tell me.

i'm going to sleep now, and tomorrow i will change/finish the XML file and then you can tell me if it's good or not.


oh btw, i did the coding for the police the same way as the bosses, but i'll just leave it that way since all the continents there have the same name, resulting in just 1 line in the log (it will automaticly be counted up)

like instead of:
Player X gets 3 armies for holding 10 territories
Player X gets 1 army for holding the police
Player X gets 1 army for holding the police

it will automaticly change to:
Player X gets 3 armies for holding 10 territories
Player X gets 2 armies for holding the police (i named Lieutenant+Commissioner+Patrol 'the police' as a continent bonus, i thought that would be much better then adding a line like 'for holding 'Lieutenant+Commissioner+Patrol Cars)

Just remeber guys when it comes to XML you have to use the code in the most efficient way possible to reduce file size. Im pretty sure that means override tags win over old fashioned continents. Assuming I know what im talking about (sorry zimmah, I still appeciate that your helping out thou ;) )

i use like 220 lines while he uses over 590, though if you want to get the log right in game (which i think is more important) i'd personnaly prefer to add a few lines (and really just adding like 40~50 lines in a file of over 2000 lines, is not a big deal, especially if that means the logs will be smaller, saving a huge amount of server capacity)

btw, i'm not saying his XML is bad, in fact i think at some points it's even better then the one i wrote, but to get it perfect i think it's best to combine them. (well not literary put them together, just take the good parts out of my XML and mix them up with the already good XML he got, to get an extemely perfect XML file

they are both as efficient if you just look at the in-game effect

the only thing that really changes (besides a few extra/less lines maybe) is the way it will get printed in the log

on the other hand if you look at server capacatity, the less charcaters printed in the log, the less 'power' it will need from the server in the long run. since really a few kb in a xml won't hurt that much, but in the end it will matter a lot if the game gets played a 1000 times a day if the log has 1 or 2 lines extra every time you print a bonus in the log. so if by 'efficient' you mean 'print the least possible text in the logs' then you are right. if by 'efficient' you mean make the smallest XML, then you might be wrong in this case.

i will just try to make it look like the way the creater of the map wants it to be. and off course i'll try to keep the characters printed in the log to a minimum, since if there is one thing i don't like is seeing the same bonus printed 6 times in the log in 1 turn. i just didn't think of writing the XML in the way edbeard did it. besides i was looking for a way to seperate both the leader and the 2nd in the logs, now i think of it, there is another way, but i think it will need a little more space though.

like if you make a continent for both the leader and the 2nd, and then make overriding continents for each bonus like edbeard did, but then seperate the 2nd and the Leader ones, if you know what i mean. it will result in the best logs though. because then you will have:

Player X gets Y bonus for holding Leader + Z Muscle or:
Player X gets Y bonus for holding 2nd + Z Muscle
