I was figuring there was no way it hadn't happened before.

Both games I've played on this map are currently in deadlocks (funny thing is that they are a game and it's tie breaker). This map ends in a deadlock to often with players who know what they are doing.

Don't most standard-gameplay maps do the same thing on flat rate/no spoils games?

This map is legitimately amazing.

Oh, it's fun, but it locks up to much. 4 man escalating game at deadlock right now. all four are still in the game.

Game 5814249
Game 5540102

I just can't see how you can say a map locks up too much from played 2 games. Your two games are the only escalating ones that are currently legitimately "locked up."

well, ya, because somebody made a stupid move, and it was a tie breaker.

This map needs a list of nations that under the empires like which ones belong to the French and Portugese empires. The flags are difficult to work with,

Just to tell this map is nice in all aspects. Given the size and complexity, it's realistic in good amounts without compromising gameplay. Good work.

I disagree. The flags help a lot to make the visual connection.
The two flags you mention are nothing like each other, I find it very hard to confuse the two - try as I might.
Now, French and German flags, now those are a mix-up you could understand. Not that it's enough to warrant a change in the map, though.

It's clear to me, anyway.

Stumbled onto this map the other day. It would be far more interesting if colonies were the only basis of bonus armies, and set at +X for X colonies while holding a colonial empire home territory.

The standard 'hold all of region for' just doesnt apply for the colonial theme.

Also why reset naval superiority to neutral? It would make better sense and be more interesting to be an ongoing advantage (non reset territory) that could be held but likely will be squabbled over greatly.

I would play this map often if these ideas were implemented, but as is it is just another basic map.

You should try the New World map. Or Dark Continent.

I like to create scenarios at the Beta site. I made one called "E. Hemisphere Imperialism" using this map, with one human (me) vs. all nine bots, is challenging and fun even though the bots are stupid. So far I haven't played it against other humans.

I've worked on several scenarios but only a few of them have been tried by the beta-testers, and two of them ever made it to the Alpha game -- "Arctic War" and "USA Election 2020" (2 players). I need to update the election map for 2024, with different numbers of armies in certain states, based on whether they lean Red or Blue, or so-called "swing states"...
