cheers

Just in case you missed it ;)

Ruben I always like your style it feel a little CC old Skool ;)

I actually missed this one! Thanks for pointing it out.

About the image size...what is the preferred dimension then? I wanted to use as much space as possible so as to have an easily legible map.

Edit: Can I blame t-o-m for missing this one since he spams a lot? :p (Just kidding t-o-m! Hehe.)

Gimil's referring to the massive size of your legend and the seal at the top of the map. If you moved the seal to the top left of the territories, and the legend to the bottom right, it would not make the actual map look so small.

Ruben theres no prefernce to size. Just loking to not have all maps at max dimensions. The more maps we can fit on small monitors the better :)

Dont go out your way to resize just a little trim here and there should do the trick.

Okay I will trim it a bit.

I was asking for future reference to keep in mind when I start a new map since I always tend to go for the limit! :)

New Update: Version 12 and 12a

- I trimmed the image size down a bit. (Gimil)
- The interior borders are now all of the same shade. (RJ Beals)
- There are 2 versions of the outside borders 12 and 12a. Which one do you prefer RJ? I don't know if this is what you meant. (RJ Beals)

Coming next: Poll with different font options for the territory names. (RJ Beals)

Stick with Version 12. 12a looks worse border-wise.

I find the background very plain and boring to look at. I think you should change it by adding a slight texture. I hate very busy backgrounds, but this one is so plain it's practically crying for attention. So, I'd change it slightly, and certainly don't add anything fancy.

Okay I have added some textures to the background.

Check versions 1.12c and 1.12d on page 1 and let me know which one you prefer.

1.12d looks better for the map. 1.12c could confuse the every living crap out of others with the mosaic look.

Now Ruben....

Come on....

If Version 1.12c really made it to live play, would you be satisfied with it? That's just a 2 second stained glass filter applied to the background. It doesn't do anything for this map. The first texture (1.12d) doesn't really do much for the map either. Ruben - don't just do something for the sake that I (or someone) suggested you do it. Only follow through if you feel it leads your map in positive direction, and you're okay with the visuals. If you're not down with it - just let us know. If you would prefer a solid light green background, just let us know why. Ultimately, it's your map. But right now - my vote is to scrap the 2 options you just posted. Sorry homie.

Homie? Hehe. What does that mean?

Anyway I am just trying to please everyone RJ. Personally I am fine with the plain background but I might be in the wrong so I added some textures. Granted 1.12c sucks now that I look at it better. 1.12d is fine for me. Does it add anything to the map? Well backgrounds rarely add anything to the map in my humble opinion. When people start playing it they don't focus on the background but the gameplay.

Still I want to try to make the background better if need be and if it makes people happy. Do you have some suggestion for the background? I am willing to experiment. :)

I have added version 1.12e on page 1. Something a bit different for the background with a typical scene of San Marino.

I don't know if you like this one better. I think it detracts a bit the attention from the map but I'm not sure.

Okay, I've made it slightly lighter now as can be seen in the font option map so it shouldn't be much of problem on the eyes hopefully.

Speaking of the fonts.

On page 1 there is the map with 9 font options for the territory text. These are divided according to the 9 regions.

Choose which one you prefer and vote in the poll please.

Congratulations on your star!

I've voted for the Verdana font - it has the most clarity, and is not overly fussy. I've borrowed the style, and will be doing something similar on my Europe map ;)

Thanks for your vote Ben.

I am undecided on 3 or 4 fonts now that I look at them. I am happy with any choice as long as the text is legible.
