i dont know, umm,,,
i just dont think it looks right when you have a right angle at the top right, and then a weird angle at the bottom left, i dunno what you could do, maybe try changing it to the other side so it might fit?

ur call :)

Well i like germany exept the graphics, but i dont like these graphics much either much but meh

Hehe seems like you're a difficult person to please Sam! :p

Germany is being revamped maybe you'll like it more now.

i am lol. i like it a bit more now, got used to it, but the yellow teritory thing seems pontless, u need 6 for +1, which isnt worth the hassle, and you would need another cont to hold it anyway.
plus the yellow doesnt stand out and isnt immediatly clear.

i think that by the time you have that "cont", the others will have proper conts and will have wiped you out, and plus, the yellow terit "cont" bonus is exposed on every terit, so it really is not worth holding 6 terits to get a bonus of 1 when your exposed like that!!

Okay but I want the yellow territories bonus to stay. What I might do is make a change to the number of territories one holds to get it to make it more accessible. Maybe grant a +1 bonus for holding 4 territories. It might be 4 = +1, 5 = +2, 6 = +3 and 9 = +5 for example.

I will have to think a bit more about it but give me more feedback on how to change the yellow bonus system.

I'll also contact some elite players to see what they think about it. It's always useful to get their opinion as well.

Ruben,

I like the overall look of this - there is some potential for a good small map here.

1) You have a lot of empty space at the moment; the map is a lot taller than I think it needs to be... could you try moving the legend to the bottom-right?

2) I agree that the font looks a little out of place...

3) For the yellow continent, have you considered having a 'Berlin' style 'hold any 3 terrs to get the bonus'? That might be another way forward?

4) At the moment the map appears to be a floating island (that's probably what the comment about Germany related to). You asked for some ideas about the borders - I think it would be nice if you could somehow fade the borders into the background... I can't describe it very well, but I'm thinking of something a little like this: ████▓▒

5) Are the rivers impassable? If not, then you need bridges over it for all connections. If it is, then you need to mention this somewhere; this is one of my gripes with the China map.

6) I like the colour scheme you've adopted.

So, there we go - I'm looking forward to seeing this develop! :-)

Thanks for you input Ben, however I think you weren't looking at the last version of the map.

The font I'm using is Verdana. I can give some other font options and maybe we can run a poll.

The yellow bonuses are going to be updated. I have been speaking with various elite players who gave me their opinion and I have decided to make them more accessible. A bonus will be granted for whoever holds 4 territories not 6.

I want to try that fading border thing. Do you use a special function in photoshop for that? Dissolve perhaps?

As I said before I still need to create the bridges. I am not very good at creating these impassable objects. I will see what I can do with the bridges.

on the yellow cont - (not the collective bonus for yellow terits) anyway on the middle yellow cont there are some lines of kinda brown, im not sure if that was you half way making it textured or...
but atm that bit dnt look good, its not v noticeable, but the almighty tom spoteed it
so is that ment to be there or...

p.s i like the new key, the not slanted one, it looks a LOT better :)

Ok I have posted a new updated version 1.10.

I have changed the yellow territories bonus to make it more accessible.

I have also modified the rivers to make the map easier to read. The rivers are now effective impassable borders. This new change means that there will not be any need for bridges.

Fiorentina and its nearby green neighbor are a little TOO close in color, it's hard to tell them apart on the bonus map except by relative location.

Ah yes. I meant to answer this but forgot. Yellow region. They are caused by the texture I gave to the whole map. It was okay on the other regions but on the yellow region it caused this glitch for some strange reason. I added opacity to make it look better but there are still some small marks I guess. I can remove the whole texture for the that region.

Green regions. I hear you and I am going to change the tones of those two regions to better differentiate them.

Check version 1.11 and let me know if it's better. Changed the tones of those 3 regions.

it looks good, however the textures dont look good on them, the new colours look too strong, too green, they dont fit, i think they need to b lighter to fit with the theme,

also, your versions arent right:
you have:
---
1.11
1.1
1.9
1.8
---
where in acctual fact, if you put them in order that is:
1.1
1.11
1.8
1.9
---you went from:
1.9 to 1.1
which is going back a step! - or 0.8!

yeah it looks good,
-
are you going to change the version numbers?
coz theyre not right:
-
1.9 is a higher number than 1.10,
so they need changing

t-o-m, please stop your spamming.

If you're talking real numbers, then yes, 1.9 is higher than 1.10. With versioning however, it's different. Please stop being an idiot ;-)

:D

That's relative. For me 1.10 is higher than 1.9.

And anyway the version number has absolutely nothing to do with the map. ;)

Well i can give one sugestion, you have 4scale of green colour country.
You can change a little and Green Colour for Cita di san marino(its good green)to put to present down country, and Cita Di san Marino to present with red colour(you dont have these colour on map).

I think the colours are fine with the last update.

Anyway apart from perhaps giving more font options I don't see what else I can do at this stage so I will be waiting for the mods to evaluate the map and see if they can move it into another section from the map ideas.
