Nice... :)

But I see something wrong with the bonuses :?:
Melanesia has 5 territories and is in the center of the map, but has only 2 bonuses. Compare to Kiribati, that has 4 territories and is on the side of the map, but has 3 bonuses.

I really like this map, and 90% of the map is unchartered in terms of CC. I think the polynasia(purple) is hard to differentiate from the pink, maybe change the pink with another colour?

unfortunately, with that smaller islands is difficult to find 7 colours more different than those.. i tried a couple of different colours but the better remain those ones. :roll:

missiles/turrets can bombard other missiles / turrets as pointed out in the map :D

Here you can find the bonuses table i used for bonuses.
bonuses Table
Melanesia is defendible by few territories.
And no turrets can attack it!
That's why bonuses it's only 2
But i used a -2,00 approximation so i can give +2 to all countries but the proportion is the same! ;)

you've taken good feedback and gone in the wrong direction


1. the bombarding missile launchers are gimmicky. placed seemingly just to place them. a geographical map should have a logical reason for something like this to be added. I haven't seen one. Though, it's hard to follow your thread and versions since you only place the new version in the first post. If you could place the updated version in the post where you announce the update as well as the first post, that would be helpful

2. you've lowered the glow but taken away the ability of people to figure out which islands belong to which continent. I personally thought the contrasting glow for the island territories was a good look. it helped players distinguish where a continent ended and a new one began.

people will get confused and not know which continent "Lord Howe Island" belongs. the same with many other places. the glow itself was a good idea but there's a fine line between it being good and helpful and being too strong. before you had it too strong. now you've taken it away completely. somewhere in the middle is the correct route.


that's not necessarily the only way to help people figure out the gameplay (which is part of what graphics are for). You could leave it as it is and used coloured text instead of plain white. but this text might not be as readable on the dark water.

you'll just have to assess the map and find something that works in whatever route you choose.


3. I don't think the compass you've placed in the top right is a good look

I think we're going to post a 2.0 version with the neon effect.
So you can able to choose the best version.

Bombardments will be deleted and bonuses recalculated.

I'm not too sure if you've thought about the map size? This version is 840px wide, which makes it the large map.... the small map can be no larger than 630px wide, and I think things will be even more unclear on the small version...

well I think the second is clearly the best. it does the same job as the third but allows the image to look a whole lot better. maybe you redrew all the lines because the borders look ten times crisper on the second. nice.


are we sure this ocean isn't too dark? maybe a tinge bit lighter would be better. right now it might be too black. possibly depth should be added so it gives more detail to the image. this might be too many things going on though.

I still think your compass is too gimmicky. try something new there. perhaps you don't need a compass and you can put something that represents oceania? at the very least if you insist on keeping it, make it blend in more.

the legend sticks out at the moment. no idea how to better that though. others might have an idea.


did you take out the bonus numbers accidentally? here's quick guesses as to what they should be just looking at this map.

indigo? - 5 terr, 4 bord (+4)
yellow - 6 terr, 3 bord (+3)
orange - 4 terr, 3 bord (+2) (consider removing the Rawaki border and connecting line islands to rawaki or possibly adding another island to kiribati. having a 4 terr 3 border place makes all the other bonuses tougher to figure out. it should be +3 but then you have places which are slightly harder but +4 might be too much so if you increase those then you have to increase everything else. this orange area makes everything difficult at the moment)
green - 9 terr, 6 bord (+6)
red - 5 terr, 3 bord (+3)
purple - 10 terr, 5 bord (+7)
pink - 5 terr, 3 bord (+3)

I color scheme is terrible but the gameplay is fine. Not much new but some interesting setup. Could be a great map but depends on what you do next...

I think option 1 is the best. The glow just doesn't work on this map. There's too many small islands to have a glow effect. The hard edged looks way better to me. Nice title also btw.

I hope you continue work on this map and don't abandon it.

Problem with poll - help please

I created a post in the map foundry about a map.
Now i have to create a poll.
When i try to create it i did this passage:

    Code: Select all
    Poll creation:

    Poll question: Which version i have to develope?

    Poll options: vers. 2.0 no neon
                       vers. 2.1 light neon
                       vers. 2.2 strong neon

    Option per user: 1

This is the normal way to create a poll, so i push the "preview" button and i can see the poll correctly edited on the screen.
So i push the "submit" button but on the screen i saw this:

Poll:Which version i have to delope?

*vers. 2.2 strong neon
*vers. 2.2 strong neon
*vers. 2.1 light neon
*vers. 2.2 strong neon
*vers. 2.1 light neon

I can't open the post in this way! What i can do?

You'll have to get a mod to delete the poll for you, for some reason, polls don't always work right in the foundry.
