What are you saying here Gilligan?

what does this bonus represent?
...

well, obviously it respresents a bonus that shouldn't be there...according to the map....or should it be included since it's a mistake?

it is removed from the next upload.
the bonus on the game requirement continent was marked as +1

also adjusted in the xml.

2. the +1 bonus for Any Land Territory should not be and has been changed in the xml.

Map totally and completely Sucks ass. You can eliminate a player in one turn before they even start the game by simply bombarding with their opening troops? Should be closed until this is addressed.

No there is no need to close the map, this is a simple adjustment to re-arrange the start territories...as below.
There are 8 start positions, 4 of which have bombardable positions...the new arrangement highights these positions as bold.
This should ensure that no-one can be elimated on first go....even in poly games.
This has been added to the V3 xml for upload as above.
oh and b00060...you're still alive in those poly games, even though you lost 1 man effectively.
so back on your horse...and charge forward to getting your next platimum medal. :)

This map was started as an 8 player map.
Simply, don't play 12.

Unacceptable.

We have a 12 player game started and no one can deploy. Someone needs to fix this now.

bigWham put a limit on this map to 8 players. You won't see this again. It slipped under the radar, I suppose.

Under the radar is one way of putting it - but that doesn't solve the issue 12 of us have in the game we can't play Game 13510295.

Requesting a GM delete the game.

I alerted the admins only a mere half hour ago, they have to have a little bit of time to see the PM. :)

The games are deleted at this point.

I would agree with this and the previous post discussing it as well. While it may have "been that way in the real thing" I don't think that gives reason to make this game relatively dependent on the drop. Our opponents were unfortunate enough to have one plyaer drop both land territs where we can see them. I don't really think that is completely fair nor will it make for a fun map. I think if you don't change that you risk having this map fall into a basket of maps that are only enjoyed by a few. I think if you eliminate the chance to be eliminated first round with a drop like that (I mean... if you get a drop like that 18v3,3... you ARE dead and its stupid) then this map has a lot of great potential! :)

Thank-you swimmerdude for your thoughts,
but i have already changed the xml so that no-one gets that sort of drop in future, as per post on previous page.

One just had such a drop that started this morning 14 hours ago. Are you saying it has been updated? or is waiting to be updated? :) Just making sure, because if it was already updated then there is still a problem!! :(

that drop issue..is an issue definitly...i believe that loosing condition should be eliminated.

Losing condition is not going to be changed. The was the essence of Gallipoli...to halt the invasion.
You're lucky you don't have exactly real conditions.

I know this will probably make that decision unpopular with some, but it is something i, in particular, can live with since i do not create my maps to be all so totally balanced that they lose the essence of the battle that they're meant to depict. Pearl Harbor was the classic example where balance was thrown out the door because the Americans got their arses kicked.

well..i have to disagree with you. CC is not a art gallery or a history museum to teach something about what happened in the past.
Its made to play games, roll dices and if possible play some well made maps with lots of history and interesting stuff(like some of your maps)
Im actually surprised that you believe on what u write...or maybe the way you wrote it.
I have no problem with loosing condition staying but at least make it enjoyable for people playing it, being killed in 1st or second round is not gratifiying to anyone.Neither who dies neither who kills

anyway,so loosing condition stays. I guess that issue about that player getting bombarded and killed in 1st round is being adressed.
And sorry again if this was allready asked or debated but, can landing territories be randomized?Makes no sense to me playing a fog game and know for sure where opponent is

The issue of having all bombardable land terts will be addressed in next update
Having played a bit more now, i can agree that the map encapsulates carnage nicely! The amount of slaughter and trying to build a big enough stack to survive a move across a bombard tert in trench is great.
You could not get rid of the lose condition anyway, as the start ships cannot be attacked
