Might not float your boat Mr Benn, but then it might float several other people's boats.
As for being a map for the sake of it...well yes, as i stated at the outset, there is no Js in the alpha series and this was one of the maps i had targeted in the "what we don't have list", so...
There are plenty of other maps out there, that have nothing special about them and could equally be placed in the "for sake of it" category....
Triple Alliance
Cairns Coral Coast
Portugal
Any of the Egypt series
Doodle Earth
France
Italy
...want me to continue?
Let me see what i can do with this one! :) I might surrise everyone and come up with a pirate or two.

i have to vote no against this map if there was a poll, it just doesn't seem like a map that would be played on

Can't see myself playing on Tresure Map just yet Mr Z

i know, if poeple could see themselves playing it, it would be farther along, but with jamaica, i dont think there is a need for any more small maps, and i dont like the graphics, they are to chunkey, with a little more work, and persuation, this could work

Not at all my friend. You keep on cranking out the maps. If I had the time, I'd probably be doing the same thing ;)

took me about 10 minutes to figure out that the port royal minimap was part of the other minimap. Not sure about that. could be cool i guess, if it;s labels better.

What is the deal? Why do people hate small maps? I love small maps. I almost exclusively play on them. This is a very interesting map but it took me a minute to figure out where Port Royal is and how it connects. Can you change the colors I feel they are just too bright...

All small maps have the same strategy. All simple maps have the same general strategy. If you combine the two, it does not matter what the map is, the strategy remains the same so the map adds little if anything for the site.

That is my personal opinion. I play on many maps and do not specialize, played a good deal of games too. If you understand strategy on France, you'll play just as well on Germany.

Yes, i'm changing the whole map. so that it will become more of like Age of Merchants play style, small map, lots of resource combos for bouses, history, slaves, sugar plantations, pirates, the colonials, bumbo, gold....it's all gonna be there, tons of research of this one though but should be interesting. :)

Version 3...converted to Coreldraw

Build your resources....
Pirate with the colonials....bombard them and the forts
Plenty of artwork to be done on this one.
What do you make of this version?

Cairnswk is a machine...

And I for one have complete faith in him. If he thinks the map will be played, then I say the map will be played!

And I liked the simpler first map better... The new map is more realistic, but not directly approachable.

I like the combos idea, and like in conquer man maybe lots of combos including the same resource...
example: "gold + slaves=2" "sugar + gold=3"

I like the map idea, but I liked the previous version's game play better.

Graphics are definitely an improvement though.

I think Jamaica should just be classic style...

Also i think it should be a LOT more saturated, and more like the flag colors.

Starting to look a lot better.

I am kind of confused on gameplay... what are the starting positions? If they are the ships, then why can they bombard each other?

I'm not sold on the colour-scheme, which doesn't feel very Jamaican (colonial or otherwise).

The inset maps are fairly confusing, and it is not very obvious how they fit into (ie connect) the map.

It's much better now, but I'd move Kingston name left a bit.

I know how they fit - I'm just saying it's not obvious.
