Are the names supposed to be Ken (prefecture names) or famous cities? For example Matsue is the capital of Shimane-ken. Sorry! I just happen to live near there ;) Re-looking I am guessing cities since Naruto is listed in Shikoku, Aso in Kyushu, along with the divisions of Hokkaido (which makes sense since it takes up a big chunk of map) Sorry again if sounding nit picky >_< I tried to read through the thread to see if you changed the theme but might have missed something

EDIT: I DID miss PAGES of thread, but the map on the start a game page still says those things

In some cases yeah, in others it's just cities, in the case of of Naruto it's shorter than Tokushima. Also there's a couple mountains/volcanos, Fuji, of course, Aso and Rishirito.

Originally it was almost all kens, check out the original!

Firstly, congratulations on making this map. It is easily one of my favorites. However, I noticed you wrote "Domo Arigato -..." in the lower right corner of the map. You opted for Romaji here, which is fine, but you spelled both word incorrectly.

It should have a line over the first "o" in Domo, and a line over the "o" in Arigato. Otherwise, it could be "Doomo Arigatoo" or, for a more literal but less phonetically correct option, "Doumo Arigatou". But not Domo Arigato.

As such, the way you currently have it spelled it is missing a full syllable. This is actually a big deal, as I have experienced first hand when I asked a native speaker about watching movies (the word for movie is "eega/eiga") but they had no clue what I was talking about because I omitted a syllable (I said ega, instead of eega). This map is quality enough that it should not have this blemish on it.

Maybe this has been addressed already, and if so I am sorry. If it cannot be fixed, I understand as well. But you should be aware of it.

Shouldn't be a big issue, I'll fix it.

I prefer the system that has those small lines over the o:s. I really hate the system that transliterates it to "ou" because it sounds nothing like ou and I always read it like ou in my mind and then I have to correct myself because it's not actually ou...

I agree, the line over the o is much more professional looking, but really any of the options are legitimate.

The oo approach is to designate the elongated vowel if you have an understanding of Japanese. The ou approach is in some ways better than the oo style because it tells you exactly how to spell the word in hiragana. The Japanese use the 'u' character to show longer 'o' syllables, and they use the 'i' character to show longer 'e' syllables.
