I hate to say it, but I liked the old background better. I understand why you had to get rid of it, but the color in it and the the contrast with the dark tones of the map really made the image quite appealing. Surely there's a better image, I think.

The dotted line to the loop is a tad faint. I'd recommend a solid line.

Couldn't Roger's Park easily fit on its terr.?

Anyway, keep up the good work!

I liked the original better. It was brighter and fun to look at.
The new one is to dark and with the water also darker gives
it an all around strange feeling for me.

whats the matter we scared of the dark?

Nothin to do with being scared.
With everything around the map being dark,
it feels like it makes the map dark.
And i like to see what i'm attacking
and were i'm forting.

I'll tweak the lake to make it a bit brighter for the current version. Some say the Sears Tower on the old one takes away from the map and some prefer the less distracting one. Some prefer the old version, trees and some the new version. Maybe I should use a poll. lol--

I should say that I changed the graphics because I had the wrong train so went more towards the new l theme.

Even tho' the backdrop is dark, I adjusted the map itself to give it some contrast. This update was all you Risky... MJ didn't show up tho'.

Sweet Looking map. I agree with some of teh others that there is lots of dead space.
Maybe make the legend bigger and fill up some of the lower left area. it will also make the legend easier to read.

Some questions and observations:
-What are teh bonus regions names. The mini map does not list them
-The train station and train station/territory symbols are easy to see in the legend but hard to tell apart in the map. Maybe have a square for train only and a diamond for both. That way they are easily distinguishable.

For "rail stations can only attack stations" in Pullman. Does that mean that the circle in Pullman cannot attack the rail square in Pullman?

WM

P.S. Teh white border in Dunning is going out of the territory and into dead space (top right side of Dunning)

Did you shrink the army circle size when you scaled down to the small version? They seem too small to hold the numbers.

I would consider moving some of those names on the right side a bit closer to the corresponding territory. Hyde Park especially needs moved closer since it also has the extra name and dotted path to the border territory. (The dashes may need to be darkened a bit as well.)

Nice of you to stop in WM... always nice to get tips from a pro. I'll see if I can't fix those issues this weekend. Thanks again.

and NightS-- the small map was just a reference. I havent done anything to it outside of resizing it [in it's entirety]. Prolly shouldn't had posted it......

-Fixed the language on the rail station attack routes.
- I redid the legend since I had to assign actual names to bonus regions ( I dont have the room to name West Side and Downtown for the minimap).
- New color scheme in Lake Michigan.
- Also adjusted the borders against Lake Michigan for it to blend in more, removed the textures from bonus regions to brighten up and separate the map , changed colors on terr names. Old white version was definitely more clear and defined but it seemed to be too white. ( Not sure which one I prefer).

Thanks for your input WM-- helped quite a bit.

I really like the graphics improvement. I think they really fit the big city feel. One thing, I think the order of the bonus groups needs to be changed. It appears you start and end going from left to right in lines from topp to bottom, but then in the middle the order gets mixed up. I would recommend this order to avoid confusion:
O'Hare
North Side
Near West Side
West Side
Downtown
Midway
Far South Side
South Side

Also, the territory train stations and the train station thing is a bit confusing. I'd either scrap that or make the icons look less alike.

Yeah, I second Mattosaurus on the Train station thing. I didn't even know what he was talking about until i looked at the map again. i thought they were all the same train terrs. and could all attack their base territories.

Maybe change the Train stations to a circle (as opposed to a circle in a box) or change the square to a filled in color )of the line it belongs to) and leave the circle white. That way it stands out a little more that not all train terrs. are the same, thus provoking the player to double check the rules.

Yeah not sure the process but I'd rather not spend time or more time on it if it's not going any further. This will be the last update until we know for sure. EDIT: Just to clarify, I'm not trying to rush the process or skip in line.

*Fixed train stations.
*Added Airport attack routes to further open O'hare Inter.-- pretty certain I don't want to create another bonus considering I have the Orange line as one.

This needs to get a stamp. It should have been in the main foundry ages ago. Very cool and good looking.

Two issues that I am seeing at the moment:

1) The Mount Greenwood territory overlapping the text box is kind of bothersome to me. It looks like you ran out of space and just tried to cram them together. If they could be separated a bit, I think that would be great.

2) On the river at the south, you have parts of the outside borders of West Pullman and Riverdale showing up right beside the river. These extra lines should be eliminated so it's just the water as the border.

hey, whitestazn88 here for the preliminary review. since the last time i was here, the map has gone through a bunch of great changes. at the moment, i have no beef with it, and i'm happy to give my approval of it moving to the main foundry.
