I'll give it a maybe. The graphics are not helping though. If you add on some story with showing what each flag represents which organization then it might be good. I think it has potential.

Anyway, I don't think the bible belt should go all the way to northern va and the maryland area. Northern va is actually a very diverse, non redneck area with tons of high tech and military jobs near the dc area. Maybe you could have a secret society nation or sumthin.

It would also be cool as a feature to have a special game play tidbit of a small, maybe four territory area (possibly swine flu quarantine) where people can go in, but cat come out? I'm not sure, but it seems a pandemic of sorts would cause all of this ruckus in the first place, no?

Good thoughts. I'll make some changes for the second revision. Maybe you go in,, can't leave and you lose 1 a turn for holding each territory?

That is in the Legend. I'll be attempting to put each bonus name in the bonus area next revision.

Please describe what you mean. The Canadian economy does rely on the US economy to a certain extent.

It sometimes isn't really clear which are the different "continents", especially to the right. But I like the map size and all.
Maybe the Democratic Socialist Party is a bit of a sore point you are touching, since some might find it insulting.

I think it is a good idea but as of now it is a little too crowded. That could possible only be because of the army numbers, so could you post one without them?

Considering one is a choice and the other isn't, I don't find either of those facts surprising at all.

Anyways. I still don't understand the West Coast going Islamic. Tree-hugging Hippy maybe?

For projects like this it's always nice to refer to the Nine Nations of North America

I'd think about redrawing your bonus regions. If the USA has fallen apart, then Cuba, Canada, Mexico, even maybe China, Russia, Britain and maybe a few other European powers have invaded and have taken more of what was once the USA, along with the fractured states formed by the fall of the US Government. And a few of the regions will need a more plausible government like what has already been mentioned, like the Mormons being the controlling power around Utah, and the west coast being more of an ultra left wing kinda hippie land... maybe the Empire of Arnold the III

Another place you could go for some inspiration is to look for the old Gamemaster Series board game called Fortress America it has a similar kind of premise and back story.

Yeah, just look what happened when the U.S.S.R. collapsed.

Great idea overall, but I can't read the map. The flag backgrounds make it quite difficult to decipher where one region starts and the other ends.

Isaiah, this looks great for a first draft, and I agree with MP that it will be great for 8 players.

I think that the graphics make it hard to tell which state/terit is with which bonus. Maybe you could do something between the bonus areas to distinguish them better (separated like the USA map or some kind of bolder/larger/different color border).

Is S Ontario part of New France or Canada? I can't tell by looking. Also, the CNHR appears to be pretty much just in Canada - so by holding canada and everything inside of them you get +8 AND +6, that's unbalanced. I think the CHNR doesn't fit, personally.

The states that are part of the democratic socialist party are not typically considered democratic states at all. Other than Colorado (which went R 3/4 past elections) they have all gone R in 4 of the last 4. (source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_states). Maybe make MT/ID/WY the Swine states? Having UT and maybe CO or someone join them as the Mormon Empire ( ) would be a good idea.

Iroquois nation is a bad choice IMHO. I think you should add MD/VA to them as suggested (they certainly aren't considered the bible belt) and make it something else, possibly democratic socialist (again, see wikipedia). VA is split with the SW part being very rural and religious - maybe join that to WV to show the split in the state? Bible Belt is a good name for the south, sorry colton. Dixie would also work, thanks DIM.

I won't get into the islamic states - your call there.

Why is MS called Jackson instead of Mississippi? That doesn't make sense to me since most other ones are the state name.

My thoughts for now :)

Jake

I have a bit of a problem looking and figuring out which continent is where. For instance, the new British colonies aren't really that clear on the map-at least to me. I'm assuming its mostly New England based but it doesn't look clear and at first glance the difference between the "Republican and "Democratic Socialist" doesn't jump out.

They are going in, I'm doing research on Mormon flags. Unfortunately, so far none are in public domain. I might have to create my own.

That would be because the Mormons don't have a flag. ;)

If you want a symbol indicative of the Mormon culture I would suggest the beehive, the Salt Lake City temple, or the angel Moroni (found at the top of each Mormon temple).

.. Nice MAP.. I wouldn`t even call it a draft.. It would be nice to see one of the foundry members chime in to move it to the next stage. Just by briefly scanning i see only a few changes that may have to be made. Like the 2 the way at newmexico arizona colorado and the other state. plus there another one just further north . Its your story and your thoughts i wouldn`t let the political morons steer you different... GREAT JOB =D> =D>

:-s

The draft room process takes a lot longer than this, my friend... The fastest sticky I've seen was for dawn of ages (approx 1 month) and it isn't even outta here yet. Maps usually take months to get outta this stingy place ( my map took 6 before I gave up)

This map is far from playable... I didn't want to completely thrash the map so early in development, but here goes:

the continents can be very hard to distinguish, especially as we move to the right. Maybe an outer glow or outline with corresponding colors in the key would make it easier to understand at a glance.....

There needs to be wayyyyy more impassibles, that are randomly scattered out. If a territory is surrounded by eight others... Is it worth capturing?

The map looks very messy... Now I don't know how the hell you will clean this up, whether it be less territs, or a complete redesign, I don't care, but nobodybwouldbplay such a busy map.

That's all I have for this version. Can't wait for the update O:)

Thank you. As I read all the comments, I took a hard look at it and decided to completely redesign it, while still having the same basic bonuses. I will be deleting some territ's, while expanding a couple of bonuses. There will also be a few more impassables using the natural landscape of the land, like for instance rivers such as the snake, mississippi, missouri, hudson etc. So please have patience with me as I completely redo it. Hopefully if all goes well, I should have the 2nd draft by Sept 8th.

We'll see you all then ;)
