[UI] recently finished games not ordered in time

recently finished games not ordered in time:
when i look at my games that have ended in the recently finished games section, i always like to look at the top games to see if something changed.
i look today and for sure i know i had less games then when i looked last yesterday. But i scroll down and there i see 2 multiplayer games that have ended later then the top games...
now i can see at least 3 explainations.
they are ordered at the time i either won, or was kicked out of the game for losing.
randomish order or coinciding with the admin changes
bug

just wondering

solution:

I'm fairly certain they are ordered by game #

i just checked. there is no order to the page in gamenumers, so i'd say no that is not the case.

mind its RECENTLY finished, not the search result

It makes sense to me that they appear in the order that the games ended, win or lose for you. That way, there is a list which the system can purge in order when it archives the games.

i concur, sadly that is not what happened.
some games ended after other games have ended but are bolow said prior ended games.
in short it makes no sense
ergo bug

Games are ordered by some criteria by the SQL Server. I just don't know what that criteria is.

Perhaps the ordering is also affected by when a game moved from your Eliminated tab to your Recently Finished tab.

except i checked and it did not. clean sweep so there was no much time between the elimination and the other games

Game 9654550 has ended BEFORE Game 9577994 but the first game is higher in the list then the second.. that should not be so

Games are order by the start time of the final round. Not who won and when it was won. Not by a game number either.

that would be nice, but it still is not true. just see the 2 above mentioned games.
the last ended was below the previous ended AND it started AFTER the other game had endede, so that does not fly.

Seb, look at what he said though, the start time of the final ROUND.

From game 9654550: 2011-08-29 14:29:59 - Incrementing game to round 8
From game 9577994: 2011-08-29 09:34:54 - Incrementing game to round 10

The second game will appear lower in the list, as the final round started before the first game you listed.

start time of the final ROUND.. wow i never knew that.. really.. sweet and disturbing, so i cannot rely on recently ended games then. good to know
good to know that when wall meets head, a light begins to burn after only a few tries. thanks

You have to wonder why that sorting order is chosen, though. It doesn't immediately strike me as useful to the player or to the system as a whole.

it makes no sense to me.

i think it should be sorted by when the game ends

And, similarly, the Eliminated games should be sorted by when you were eliminated.

As I've said in many other threads, the Suggestion team, along with a few discussion/Global mods, moved any thread that hadn't had any discussion in it into Archived. If you want a certain suggestion brought back in, post in the thread.

Suggestions without demonstrable interest within the community are not submitted, and when you're cleaning house, a thing is either needed and kept, or deemed unnecessary and discarded. It might be nice if there were three categories: submitted (because the community wants it), rejected (because the community does NOT want it), and something else, for those suggestions, like this one, which just haven't received enough attention to get a ruling.

Andy can create a new subforum... Perhaps someone should talk to him about that.

I have talked to Andy about it. I had clappy bring it up with him, but I don't remember the reason they said no.
