saved game finder search criteria

Specifics/Details:

Player's favorite search criteria for finding games can be saved for future use instead of having to reselect options every single time. Hit the Saved Game Preferences Button, options are filled in automatically, hit Submit. Done.

How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:

I agree. In the meantime, I'd suggest heading over to Tools and Enhancements and getting MapRank.

Concise description:

People should be able to adjust the ''Join A Game'' experience.

Specifics/Details:

It should work like a persetted ''Game Finder''.
The standard settings should be as close to the original RISK game.
You should be able to adjust the settings through a sub-menu in ''Join A Game''

How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:

People that are new to the site most likely instantly hit the ''Join A Game'' button, when this is implented they will find what they were probably looking for. (A original RISK game)
The ''Join A Game'' button will finaly also be usable for members that have been around a bit longer.

You are aware of the "Game Finder" link, right? Seems to be what you're describing and it's conveniently located in the same area as the "Join A Game" link. :/

Yes I"m aware. I'd just like it to be adjustable so if you preset your favorite game options/maps, you can rapidly ''Join A Game'' which you like. And people that are new to the site only get to see the classic games (that's probably why they came to this site).

eh, maybe I read to quickly through it the first time. Upon further review, I still don't care for it. I'd be annoyed if the Game Finder was preset, and I know many users wouldn't take the time to figure out how to turn that off. I'd prefer if the site just allowed you to save searches as MapRank does. I've expressed my support for this in the recent suggestion to that effect.

Oh well, maybe I didn't state it clear enough. But I don't want to change the 'Game Finder' at all. It would be rediculous if a search engine would be preset. I want to change the 'Join A Game', so when you click it, it should work like a preset 'Game Finder'.

I still don't think I like it. I use Join A Game if I just want to browse. I use Game Finder if I have something specific in mind. I don't think I would ever go set up my presets for Join A Game because I am constantly looking for different types of games. Only when I really don't care do I look through the Join A Game tab.

I would much rather that (1) you be able to save searches in Game Finder and/or (2) the Search results (whether from Join a Game or Game Finder) have a lot more filter/sort options. I still can't quite come around to your idea of having users or the site preset what comes up in Join a Game.

I don't like this suggestion as-is, however I would support adding filters to the join a game page. (basically simpler than the game finder as in you only see games you can join, and the filter would be instant)

Thanks 111mike for the suggestion. I'm sure this is around the suggestions somewhere. If not, I've got a comprehensive idea of what could be done with this.

Don't we already have this? I know I have a default saved search when I bring up GameFinder...

If you search, then hit the single back arrow next to the page number, you'll get a URL. You could add that as a favorite, or start a notepad with it for the time being too.
