agentcom wrote:As was said in another suggestion by thehippo, I don't think CC is going to place a button/link for every player that wants to avoid 2 clicks. Yes, it is annoying to have to make 2 clicks when a button could do it in one, but it also clutters up the screen for the players who more often either advance all or advance more than 0 but less than all.

I'm not sure I see the need for this extra button.

I think the need lies in trying to create a friendlier interface for phone and tablet users. The real solution to that would be to create a mobile app/interface for those who play on those devices. However, this would be a convenient stop-gap.

That's a good point

A single button for this suggestion which has limited usefulness. A single button for the next suggestion which has limited usefulness. A single button for the next suggestion which has limited usefulness. And we have clutter.

I wouldn't call it limited. Especially with the introduction of trench warfare. It is extremely common in trench games to advance zero.

actually it is extremely common to advance exactly 1 (in order to have 2 troops and make the best economical defence) which is hard both with clickies or without. At some speed games this changes the strategy as you do not have the time to advance 1 as you should and you advancing 0 instead. But anyway I do not hink it is worthing to make any changes for those reasons

MC, I was thinking the same thing. We add the advance 0 option, then the advance 1 option and now you've got 3 buttons there just waiting to be mistakenly pushed. I really don't think this should be a problem for anyone on a computer, so I think Chap hit the nail on the head when he said it's all an issue of not having a good mobile interface.

Right clicking advances none.

Not the same as a button.

How do I right click from my phone?

Exactly. All these chuckleheads here are missing the point--it's a massive pain in the ass playing this game on a mobile device and one of the big reasons is all the scrolling you have to do when you are moving (or in this case) not moving any troops. I'm not sure if this is a winning suggestion or not, but it does have merit and deserves to be considered. The putridness of this site on any mobile device needs to be addressed and this would at least be a tiny step in a positive direction.

I'm going to SUBMIT this. This is absolutely crucial for the mobile interface.

Don't you need to fix the OP first?

Extra buttons complicate the UI.

Put the autofocus on the quantity field and use autocomplete. Set the default quantity to max. The user can type in the desired quantity or scroll down the list, then hit "Advance".

I do not get it, whenever I want to advance zero, I click right mouse. Right clicking advances none, left clicking advances all. (chrome, no BOBs or other extras). Maybe it is just a BOB or Mozilla issue I guess?

The issue is doing this on phones or tablets now, where it may be even harder to select the number manually than on a computer.

Advance none button

Postby Donelladan on Mon May 18, 2015 7:18 am

Concise description:

Add a button " advance none" after conquering a territory

Specifics/Details:

Just after conquering a territory we have a button advance all, and a cursor to chose the amount of troops. But very often we want to advance 0 troops, most turns in an escalating game when taking card on a card spot for example. It would be nice to have an extra button "advance none" next to the advance all button.

How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:

Improve the experience of people playing fromt their cellphones and tablets.
When playing on a tablet/iphone, we do not have access to the right click/left click shortcut to chose between advancing all troops, or advancing 0 troops.
It is quite annoying when playing with big stacks, for example on city mogul, and one has to go all the cursor to chose 0 troops.

Why not! I support this.
It is very rarely I play from my phone, but from the times I have I can understand how this could help those of our CCers that do.

I always play from a tablet and they already have a fix for this.
If you click the tert you attacked from it advances 0.
