special ops quad games!

here's an idea: quads game where each player has a special ability. Is it ballanced? no idea but sounds fun.

red/pink: the muscle. receives +1 troop to drop every round. the special attack force!
green/teal: the wheelman. Can perform 2 forts at the end of his turn! (note that unlimited forts can't be applied to this game mode)
blue/orange: the doc. receives 1 extra troop at the end of his turn that he can place anywhere on the team (like a deferred troop)
yellow/grey: the brain. If he holds a region but one held by a teammate, he doesn't need to teamkill to get the region bonus. (example, if yellow has lima, sao paolo bogota and blue has buenos aires, yellow has the SA bonus)

This might actually be a fun idea

I read it once and thought it was bad but then before posting I thought for a minute and realised it would be fun and add a whole new different kind of strategy when playing these games!

the thing is that i've already seen players ask what type of team player they are. But it all depends on the drop, and you will be the attacker/supplier ect depending on this. Withthis type of teams each player can decide what he wants to be in the team. You could build up special quad teams where each one has a determined role. When people start having experience on this type of game it can be awesome I think... not sure I would still play regular quads!

and guess what betiko,
instead of distributing these roles in linear fashion, what about these roles are assigned randomly through players for each team ?
or what about players are given to pick what role they will like to play in 24 hours preperation period of the game just same manner in manual deploys ?

I would definitely be the attacker. Zidane - 21 has the worst dice ever so he would be the medic. Tiller has the brains.....and whoever could be the wheelman.

Great idea! These would be really fun in clan wars

I think this sounds like a lot of fun... I wonder though if the 4th special op with the territory bonus would require an xml change to the map for it to work? If so, I think that in itself would be a lotof extra work to implement. (Think of updating Hive's xml so that every bonus checks if player 4/8 has all but 1 territory... ahhhhh! haha)

Good thoughts though, wonder what other special ops we could come up with!

I think this may fall into the category of things that are fun, but might not really work on CC. We'd have to get a techie to take a look, but I think I could safely say that this would have least be a difficult implementation, if not impossible. Would I play it in RL with some friends? Sure. Would it work here? I'm not so sure.

Sounds really fun, but getting a CC clock on the main page would take 5 minutes worth of work and hasn't happened yet in 6 years so this I can see coming sometime in the 23rd century.

yup I think you guys re right about the xml and the "brain" thingy. we can always make it trips special ops! (unless you can come up with an additional perk that wouldn t totally destroy the ballance)

also i was thinking that maybe the medic could only drop on the player from his team with the least troops?

I think it would be awesome too!!, problem is coding this..it could be done but so difficult it would be put on the back burner. There are so many things that need to be tweaked before this could happen.

Great suggestion though ;)

Next time I'm in Europe, I will look you up betiko and we can play this live. I don't think it fits the sites milieu though.
