Nice =D>

L4D since Wild Geese have replaced them

Also, it'd be nice if you can get training grounds here as well
I know AoC, Tsm, Empire, Legion, kort, IA, vdll, g1 all have one of their own

Some of the abbreviations also seem a bit arbitrary, GG, GR, PR, WG, DB, RA, and I'm not sure if vdll is perhaps preferred to dvll as well

Training grounds is an interesting one, very few seem to be producing members to the main groups and based on a recent conversation with the SOC, I think the CLA needs to talk about that one.

The abbreviations are mainly the ones that are commonly used. For the new clans, I just make one up that will be enough to distinguish them GR vs GRIM is a little more clear, all they need to do is pm a CD and we can update the acronym if they wish.

AoC intend to bring at least 1 new Agent through our academy every 1-2 months. We never want to bring on to many at any given time, as it's easier to integrate new members one at a time (everyone getting to know each other and all that).

Capitino was the first and is proving a fine inclusion.

They have not, they are only a few weeks old. I add them as they get approved.

The "Ohio Legion of Doom" has changed their clan name to "Team Ohio". If you want to use an abbreviation, we prefer you use "(OHIO)".

Thanks,
Sully

Could you shed some light on this for non-CLA members? ;)

As far as ive seen as a CLA member, not a whole lot fo discussion as of yet. I do like the ideas of the training groups for clans as an addition to the SOC, as they aren't really trained for the clan atmosphere with Standard Esc games through SoC. Even if members arent accepted into the training clan, they now have the experience and ability to apply for other clans and work their way up.

Ill probably end up copying and pasting this in the CLA later. ;) Contact Bruce or your other KORT reps for info, im sure it'll be discussed more soon.

Hi JP... I'm wondering if you'd be so kind as to change The 4th Crusade to The New Crusade (TNC)...

We decided to change the name when someone brought up that the 4th Crusade knights were dicks...

Yes, we prefer VDLL. If it's not too much of a hassle, please change it for us.

Also, our VDLL Academie (training group) functions the same way AoC's Academy does. We have a fairly low amount of new players in the usergroup, so they can get intensive training. I don't think the VDLL Academie should be on this list though, because it's meant purely as a training ground to become a member of the competitive clan.

Good job on the list!

What I understood from JP's post is that the SOC is unhappy with the existence of clan academies? Is that it? And if they really are, can they do something about it? Are they entitled to a teaching monopoly? Or does the SOC believes the training grounds are not being effective enough (due to few players making the transition to the main groups) and thus wants to abolish them?

Sorry, GK, I just got confused when reading Jp's 2-liner.

SOC needs team teachers and clan training grounds are not producing many players either, sounds like a common issue.

SOC could have had many teachers.. except it was not handled to the liking of many teachers.

agreed...you will find many clan people want to stick with their respective training groups. and mold the players as they see fit.
As far as an issue of players not getting through. We have had 1 get through now. with a handful close

I believe AOD has had alot of success with our training group as well, as a couple of Cherubs brought up are now some of the top contributors to the clan. I think the issue with SoC finding team teachers is most players going through the Society have little-to-no experience whatsoever, while clan training groups bring in players that have experience(usually), just needing refining to become truly competitive.

To be honest, not sure where this conversation is going though... :?

On the argument of clan training academies, I view myself as an above average team player at least, due to EMPIRE Mate Building. I have gone from 1200 points to 2200 all based on thier training and teaching. While I enjoy standard and terminator games still, I love nothing more than playing a good team game with my friends from EMPIRE where I am starting to lead on a few maps.

As far as effectiveness, I have had four different clans tell me I'm improving and looking good. FOED has started playing games with me and neanderpaul suggested I try out for the clan, Grim Reapers a while back suggested I look at the requirements and start working towards joining, Headless Horsemen have offered me a spot.

And some EMPIRE members have encouraged me to keep going as I may soon get to acceptance.

Also both catnipdreams and silverking have graduated into EMPIRE. There may be more.

It has to be copied when you enter from the Control panel, dropdown via profile will not work.
