FISO might be willing to take you on, depending on a few different factors still up in the air right now. What kind of war did you have in mind? Any particular settings or format restrictions or anything?

I think we'd prefer a few 1v1s too.

How about 4 singles, 5 doubles, 5 triples, 6 quads. First set one clan does dubs and trips, other does singles and quads, then vice versa for the second set.

Trench allowed (No Hive), if it's used then a 30 round limit is imposed.

Freestyle banned.

All other settings allowed. Each set must contain at least one of each spoils types and at least one of each reinforcement type.

No Beta or random map picks, and maps may only be used once per set per clan.

12 hour fog rule in force.

15 games per player limit (not including tie breaker)

Tie breaker on random map, fog, no trench, escalating, chained, quads. Tie breaker match will only be played once all other games are finished and only if necessary (adds a bit more suspense if the rest of the war is tied)

That's off the top of my head, trying to keep it vaguely generic but also give it it's own character. As I told you via PM BG it will likely be a week or so before we could definitely commit to starting this. I've flagged this thread in our clan forum so I'm sure if my clan mates have anything to say about the above they will speak up too and put me straight. I'm not a boss in FISO, just the annoying sod sent out to argue with people here and there. :wink:

Just my 2 cents because I just happened to be reading this thread. Im not even the person negotiating here. ;)

War length - I personally prefer high 40s or low 50s game count. Especially if you want to add a 1v1 element.

1v1's - I don't think they are a good measure of a clans skill, so I would personally not like to agree with this. Maybe if we had special restrictions and it was not a lot of games of 1v1. such as you can only use a member once in a 1v1. Or maybe once home and once away.

Edit: I am thinking in addition to the things I just said, I think that 1v1s should be a best of 3 or a best of 5 to assist with balancing out, drops and first go's

Trench - Thats too much for me. I could see maybe factoring light 1v1's or light trench. But not both and again I would vote for restrictions on it.

I agree with everything else you proposed.

We're a fairly small clan numbers wise (especially once you factor out our freemiums) with a lot of commitments already made for the next couple of months - I think we'd prefer to keep the game count down, or put more into smaller sided games than quads. How about 4, 6, 6, 6 (44 game war, 45 with the tie breaker if needed)?

I don't think we'd have problems with limiting trench - maybe no quads trench, 1 trips trench, 2 dubs trench and 2 singles trench as a limit per set (smaller sided games go quicker so trench slowing things down isn't so much a factor)?

Interesting ideas crispybits, if it's a goer then you're running it! :-)

Not sure whether the singles matches would make the war medal eligible unless the team games are 41+ by themselves?

Don't mind the 1v1 idea as an "enhancement" perhaps the match ups could be best of 5, 2 home maps (different) each + a random?

Personally I don't see the need to limit trench, 30 round limit if you wish (with any quads games in the first set as a compromise to "speed" things up?), but yet to have any trench game decided by troops count.

BTW - I like quads, I can hide in a corner somewhere and just deploy out!

Since even with Crispy's format, 1v1's are less than 20%, you should be fine.

The best of 5 may be a good idea though, I know it's often used (although ACC uses best of 4, but is able to incorporate draws in order to provide a winner during the regular flow of the war as well), Since 1v1's can be decided by drop/dice sometimes.

(I'm not sure if you meant just 5 1v1 games overall with 2 home games each? Or 4 sets of 1v1 Home games each as crispy portrayed it?)

Looking at the individual match ups rather than overall total (so if it's 4 singles matches it'll be 4x5= 20 games, but each match worth 1pt for the war), no idea how crispy intends to ignore some fairly decent 1v1 players to select just 4, but it'll be interesting to see what he comes up with.

Naah we'll have 8, 1 each for the 8 best singles players seems fair enough (depending on TNC's map picks anyway)

4 singles (Each map is best of 5) (2 trench max = no round limit)
6 dubs (1 trench max = 30 rd limit if trench)

At least 2 trench for doubles, the 2 maps we favour most won't get anywhere near a round limit.

Don't play trips so personally don't care there :-)

Quads - are you saying as many as we want or none at all?

Can you qualify what you mean with max 2 trench in singles (again, might not matter to me if I don't get the gig :-))

As for the 2 max in singles it would be out of the 4 series, 2 of the series can be trench, so it would actually be 10 games, but really on counting as 2. That sentence has to have an easier way of being written...

lol care to drag my ass out of the fire by allowing 1 of the quads to be trench too BG (with the 30 round limit ofc)? You have taken away nukes and unlimited after all...

If so then I think we have an agreement and all we need is a start date - as mentioned previously we'd need a week or so as we're juggling a lot of other commitments and have 2 try-outs to join so we'd want to let the dust settle to see if we're in a position to commit to this properly (no point going in half-assed after all)

Agree with the singles comments - each best of 5 battles counts as 1 match for the war, and 2 matches can have trench.

4 singles (Each map is best of 5) (2 trench max = no round limit)
6 dubs (2 trench max = 30 rd limit if trench)
6 triples (1 trench max = 30 rd limit if trench)
6 quads (1 trench max = 30 rd limit if trench)

No Unlimited Reinforcements
No Freestyle
No Nukes
No Beta
No Random
Maps = once per set
12 fog rule = We'll do our best, if broken, will announce what we did (never intentionally break, but i suck at this)
12 game limit (singles series counts as 1)
Tie breaker on random map, fog, no trench, escalating, chained, quads. Tie breaker match will only be played once all other games are finished and only if necessary (adds a bit more suspense if the rest of the war is tied) i like this
First set one clan does dubs and trips, other does singles and quads, then vice versa for the second set.

I dont want to require "Each set must contain at least one of each spoils types and at least one of each reinforcement type."

The last 10 quads games I've been in with trench (and most if not all were on large maps) haven't gone beyond 25 rounds. A few of them didn't even last 12.

Someone really needs to out some proper stats together to dispel this myth about trench games 1v1 or 2v2 or 3v3 or 4v4 taking so much longer. I'll agree when you have 3 or more factions (singles or teams) fighting each other it's much easier to grind to a stalemate, but when there's only two sides it just doesn't tend to do that.

Looks good BG - let me have a word with my clan mates - I'm away from tomorrow until Sunday though so won't be able to come back to this until then.
