The language is called 'Finnish', yes, but the same word can also be used as an adjective describing what nationality one is of. isn't Finnish the word used to say you speak the language not that that your actually from Finland? I may be wrong I don't understand the European terms.

Oh no, you can't say that you're a Finlandian. If you're from England you're English, Finland your Finnish, or Wales then your a whale.

Likewise, it is also the name of their language.
If you are English then you speak English...
Finland you speak Finnish....
Wale you speak Whale.....

There's just dualality there....
