Ofc there will be. No reason for there not to be. Sure the first part might have been a bit hard to understand, but now we are to a regular contest as normal. Good luck to all those who enter!

The Dubai map has a version that is newer than the version posted in this thread. Please update this image: http://img839.imageshack.us/img839/3695/dubaiv13b.png.

Indeed!

Also, when you simply make a cut like this, you should clearly explain why those maps have been picked. There are some quite bland and boring gameplay represented there.

What a sham! I for one will not waste my time again, doing innovative gameplay when no-brainer mechanics such as these are passed along.

Shame on you!!

My 2 cents: If you add the "none of the above" option the entries need to be more developed. Those drafts could have a great gameplay, but the graphics are not selling the concept.

That is why the graphic artist are coming into play. They bring these ideas to life.

Indeed. My point is that the "none of the above" option should be removed...

Well the poll is only there as a guide so that people can try and gauge how many people they'll be up against... It's not indicative of which maps the general public want, but a reflection (hopefully) of what people are working on. Anyway, I don't think I can remove the option now without resetting the votes...

Am I right in thinking that the entries that dont win this stage could still progress to fruition?

Of course, but I assume they will have to proceed via the normal routes, ie. through the foundry.

You mean, do the graphics for your own gameplay and enter it for the contest? Yes.

So is there going to be a winner for each of the five gameplays, or just one overall ?

I'm not too sure what you mean? You can redraw and change the graphics completely, but the gameplay (ie territory borders, connections, bonuses etc) should remain unchanged from the draft images in the first post.

So is that to mean that there will be 5 quenched maps at the end, or just one ?

The five winning maps will be moved into the Foundry. There will be a run-off vote to establish who has the bragging rights :P

So, the contest will have ONE winner, and the four runner-ups, will just be left to sink or swim in the Foundry ?

If you end up going with Istanbul, I could assist you with some slight changes. One aspect of Istanbul you are missing is the Metro, which for most is even more valuable than highways. Love the concept!
