thanks, I see that the thread is marked "to-do" but when I click on the actual to-do list, I don't see this in the works anywhere.

Am wondering if this has been discussed before and what are some opinions of
no reinforcements as a game option.

That sounds horrible.

I guess there's always someone who would want to play it, though. :)

That would actually be awful...

There actually wouldn't be a point in playing.... imagine if you decided to have no spoils too! It would be pretty pointless... actually, no, it would be ridiculously pointless.

So when you get down to 1's on every territory do you just wait for someone to deadbeat?

I'm playing no spoils adjacent and I want to poke my eyes out. I can't imagine no reinforcements. Why not just have some friends over and watch paint dry?

Agreed. It'd make troop placement all the more important. Would be interesting...

This has been suggested before (in the Suggs & Bugs forum, no less), and I believe it was placed on the "To-Do List" (AKA- the place where good ideas go to die).

I'll play a test game (gentleman's rules) if people are up for it.

Much thanks for the thoughts on this subject,

To help clear up my question,

The following is from the game rules and describes the 3 kinds of reinforcements
that exit, which are____adjacent, chained, & unlimited.

----------------------------------
Reinforcements
With chained reinforcements, you can reinforce once and from a region connected by regions you own.

With adjacent reinforcements, you can reinforce once and only from a direct neighbour. This requires you to plan your deployment and advances more carefully.

With unlimited reinforcements, you can reinforce as many times as you like from regions connected by regions you own. This makes the game easier and more flexible.

----------------------------------

I was thinking that adding ____________none________as a choice,

would make _________deployment & Advance________more interesting.

Please visit the Sugs&Bugs forum for putting forth suggestions. And I believe you will find this idea already being discussed.

Moved.

Can you imagine a 1 vs 1 Circus Maximus game with no reinforcements ??

I wonder if this couldn't be coded into the next map XML upgrade - X can conquer Y, but X cannot reinforce to Y.

1 vs 1 would be resolved by _______deployment______

tho a game with no spoils, would seem tedious
