The time I have on CC forum home page is my own time, which differs from the CC time, and I never remember how many hours to adjust for CC time. As a result, I don't participate in any "timed" events.
This idea of showing a standard time for everyone on the site would change that. You'd know precisely when something starts.
Either way causes a conversion requirement; showing what time CC thinks it is, helps people do the conversion without having to remember how many hours to add or subtract and whether CC thinks it's am or pm.
