[UI] Hide Dead Players

PostPosted: Thu Jun 14, 2012 1:53 pm
by DoomYoshi
Concise description:
  • Once a player is eliminated from the game, it should be possible to turn them off from the playerstats bar

Specifics/Details:
  • Similar to the sidestats toggle, another toggle which can show/not show dead players

How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:
  • Will make following Battle Royales much easier, for one
  • Will allow players to focus on pertinent information in 8-player No Spoilers now down to 4 or 3 players

Does this really matter outside Battle Royales? How many of those are there anyway? You say it would help in 8 player, but I think the benefits there would be marginal

I don't think it will make a huge difference in anything, but it's still an improvement.

I vote in favour.

i thought this was a good idea then found myself agreeing with IcePack's marginal use post.

however, with more and more people accessing this site from iphones and ipads an ability to hide dead info would improve their experience.

Just joined my first Battle Royale ever. Since this is going to become a common gaming option, I am now 150% in support of this idea. Please, please, please implement this suggestion.

Deservedly so. BR's are going to change a lot of people's feelings about this one.

Removing them would be a pretty easy script addon... One line of jquery:

$("#stats tr:has(.eliminated)").hide()

After BR being popular I support this as an OPTION or BR ONLY.

I really do NOT want to see player names start "disappearing" in standard, term, quad dub etc games.

If it can't be option or BR only then -1 to this

I think it would be a toggle option like show/hide color codes. It would collapse the list if you wanted it to.

From OP:

Similar to the sidestats toggle, another toggle which can show/not show dead players

If you get BOB then you can hide dead players stats.

Pretty sure everybody here is talking about a toggle link (like color codes). I would be surprised if many people wanted this to be automatically done.

Seems like we should see how well battle royales catch on in the long run before we make an adjustment like this. Otherwise, it would make for a lot of wasted time and effort right? That is, if battle royales are the main force driving this suggestion.

Next time there's a murder trial because a corpse has been found, this thread will be used as evidence.

Whilst the benefits outside of BR games is marginal, it would be nice to just have a toggle to turn it on and of.

Lets have this one. Please.
