Deadbeat Point Loss

This thread pertains to a time when deadbeats didn't lose points, in order to reduce farming of new recruits. However, this turned into a method for players to back out of games they didn't like, and these are the many, many suggestions that helped eliminate that system.

It seams the policy about kicking someone out of a game after 3 consecutive missed turns is an easy way for someone who is not advantageously (does that word exist?) placed in the map at the beginning to make shure he/she doesn't lose points...
I was wondering if it would be possible to do something about that 'cause I've been stuck with 4 deadbeats on 6 people for one game and at leat one deadbeat per game...It pretty much sucks when someone does that ( especially when you play doubles with the guy... )
Could the people being deadbeats like three times or something be kicked out of the site  or have some sort of points taken away?
What do you guys think? :?:

i assume that many deadbeats are new players who never return, so punishments won't help. of course, that's just an assumption i should probably do some data analysis...

je le c gros mais meme lo ya du monde gradé qui se poussent des games parce qu'ils veulent pas perdre des points...

I like your idea man, they should lose points but the winner doesn't get any for beating them... That will stop them from deserting (if they are not newbis who never return)

totaly true qeee1!
I just posted something on the same subject a day ago or so...
Losing points for deadbeats but the winner not getting points for these deadbeats would be a pretty neat solution... Lack knows about it, so it is up to him now... 8)

And if they are noobs, then it is of no consequence anyway. It's a win win situation... unless the coding involved is excessive.

Game 3092

taken didn't think he could win the game anymore, and just stopped playing. People like that need to have a incentive to play. How about instead of just loosing normal points, they should loose double if they desert a game, but the winner only gains normal for beating them.

For example in the game 3092 Addon will most likely win. Looking at the scores...

1092 - addon 918 - taken 1242 - shaddowfire 1000 - B-Vaughn

The points should be as follows (using the formula on the how to play page rounding down.)
taken should loose 16 pts
shaddowfire should loose 22 pts
B-Vaughn should loose 18 pts
Totaling that addon should gain 56 pts

What I'm saying is all of that remains the same except taken should loose double pts for deserting a game (not playing in the last 3 turns).

You should make it so they loose EXTRA points for being deadbeats

I nearly lost a game, taking out someone who was still in the game but hadn't turned white yet, believing that whilst he was still a colour, he was still a player.

after the game ended, my team got nothing for this deatbeat

Why should deadbeats be rewarded, and not having to have any points taken away. I think that they should lose EXTRA people

I agree. If they're losing they could just stop playing, get kicked out, and not lose points.

I realized that becoming a deadbeat is the solution for team games in which your partner is a deadbeat, or a complete dumbass. I think Im going deadbeat one of my games (what a partner!!). Until turn 4, I am probably alive, so I quit and dont lose points. :)

In truth, I hate deadbeats. I think there should be a division between games of recruits and the rest.

you claim you hate deadbeats yet you become one?? just play out the game, if you lose some points o well if you a good enough player you should get them back quickly

I had something happen in game 3838 I don't totally understand. I'm not sure if the guy knew he was losing and stopped playing (as mentioned above), or if something was bugged. The guy definitely did play some turns, and then I eliminated him and theother player to win the game. I got 23 points form te player who participated the entire game, but for the one who skipped his last turn before my victory, it said he was a deadbeat. But, he HAD been playing, just not the last round. So, lost no points, and I gained none from him.

I'm not sure if that is a bug, or an exploit of the current implementation of the game, but either way, I'd love to see some way to fix that in the future.

I wont do as you say, because other players already did the same to me. I was angry, but now I see "deadbeat strategy". And I love team games, so I cant simply lose always my partner is a deadbeat. I bet none of top players lose points this way. Ah, if I could find a good permanent partner, that would be good...

Anyone interested in becomes my permanent partner?

I don't partner with dead beats.

Scoring and deadbeats

I feel that deadbeats should lose points in the scoring. See the match scoring below where 4 players who were not doing well just stopped playing and did not lose any points! :(

2006-02-22 21:28:12 - wlevine won the game
2006-02-22 21:28:12 - supermarcol loses 26 points
2006-02-22 21:28:12 - Darkfire001 was a deadbeat
2006-02-22 21:28:12 - ginners was a deadbeat
2006-02-22 21:28:12 - robinhood777 was a deadbeat
2006-02-22 21:28:12 - emgurlaz was a deadbeat
2006-02-22 21:28:12 - wlevine gains 26 points

I highly recommend that Deadbeats lose points!!

The winner should STILL get points of what they would have lost even if they dont lose it
Thats just not fair
