the red upgrade button

Postby LindsayRulez! on Tue Mar 29, 2011 6:32 pm

The upgrade button is annoying. I understand that is the point to make us upgrade, but we are homeless. We(what,me worry?) have every intention of buying premium when we can get a place with reliable wifi but for now it is an eye sore. Maybe change it to a different color or something. Any way, we love this site and the red upgrade button seems like a greedy money grabbing eye sore. Not the image CC wants Im sure.

Just thought I'd note, if you buy premium, its not red anymore.

Because you are premium... I am not sure how much it would bother me... but hmm maybe another color?

"I'm playing for free, and the advertisement urging me to buy premium is slightly annoying. The only way to get rid of it is to pay you money. Could you remove it, or make it less noticeable, so I can continue playing on your site for free without any small bothers?"

Until the screwed up team violators issue and "adjusted dice" are made REALLY random...you can bet I'm NOT gonna hit the upgrade button !

ummm... May I suggest you wait until your situation is a little better than just reliable wifi before spending money on online games? :/

I can see your point, but all the same, it's still annoying...

Think of it as a gentle encouragement to upgrade, so we can continue to bring everyone reliable servers and performance, new features, etc. :D We like Freemiums---we would've got rid of you all if we didn't!---but I think the small nudge is appropriate.

How about for premium members, it would still say "Premium Membership" like it did, but for freemiums it would be red and say "Upgrade to Premium!"

The reason that it was changed in the first place was the "Premium Membership" was too long for the smaller sidebar. So to have it say either of the messages you suggest it would have to run on two lines.

Changing "Upgrade !" to "Premium" would cause less confusion for premium members the first time they see it. I admit, I was thrown off at first.

When I first noticed it, I clicked thinking it was a new announcement tab that would have the latest site upgrades listed and explained.
