"Add to Favorites"

Concise description:
  • Add maps to a list of "Favorites".

Specifics/Details:
  • If you like a map that you're playing on, you can click the "Add to Favorites" link, which will add the map to a list that has its own drop-down in the Game Finder and Start A Game pages.
  • Would likely have to have a spot in the UCP so one can edit the list.
  • Perhaps there could be a check box next to the Favorites drop-down in the Game Finder to "Select All Favorites", so you can search for all of your favorite maps.
  • Maybe add a "View Favorites" link on the user wall/profile page.

How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:
  • Ease when finding/creating games with maps that you like/regularly play on.
  • Would help to remind you which maps you like 8-[
  • If the "View Favorites" function were added to user profile/wall pages, it'd be neat to see what maps people like, and perhaps the CAs and Andy could get some map stats based on users' Favorites.
Not sure how easy this would be. Perhaps the Tech Team could tackle it, if this sugg gets enough support? That'd be pretty cool :)

Conversely some sort of block feature for certain setting might be good also/instead. Examples being I don't like fog. Maybe others don't like "no spoils". It would be cool if we could set it so we don't accidently end up in a game with settings that make us want to smash our computers.

Not a bad idea. I can see people using that, but I personally like all types of settings (Freestyle only on certain occasions, though), so I'm not so sure I would necessarily use that feature.

You are welcome to post your own thread for your suggestion :)

If I had a good idea I would post a thread then trust that it would be implemented once I solved the "color" code problem then...

Oh, I forgot.

Mr_Adams wrote:suggestion: 9 player option

purpose: Since we now have a 2 teams of 4 option, we should increase the # of possible players once more, to 9, to allow for 3 team triples.

As all my suggestions, just a thought...

What do you think?

But I'm not bitter.

I made an error in that. It was actually "on Tue May 04, 2010 9:25 pm" but it's still been solved. Let's get 9 player games rocking the beta here. You can mod edit me out of your thread now if you need to.

I like your suggestion and would prefer them to impliment favorites instead of block features. Blocking might be easier to code though.

Good idea. I would use this as well. It get's tiresome scrolling through the huge list of maps looking for that one you want to play, especially when you're making multiple games on that map.

Agreed! DOnt
know how often I might use it, but there ARE a few out there that'd be added immediately!

You can do this easily using the GameFinder and saving your various search patterns using that function. For instance, I have a search pattern for (from the days when I could play speed games):
Waiting For Players
Standard and Terminator selected
Sequential
Escalating, Flat Rate and No Spoils selected
Round Limit of NONE selected
All speed times selected except 24 hours (obviously)

No, I don't use BoB...however, I've had it so long that I forget it was actually an addon...here you go:
