Also, if the site is concerned around cheaters buying back, I can submit a suggestion for cheaters to get 50% off their premium buy back. Is that something that would be implemented, more cheaters would be apt to buy back given the discount on premium membership. Right?

There's a difference between a case in the C&A forum and marking someone individually. Secondly, the latter would never be implemented. It would encourage cheating to get a deal, so it would present a win-win to cheating and buying back.

Yeah, I was being sarcastic about the 50% discount. I'm just wondering why the average user should care whether or not cheaters are less likely to buy back. I think we'd rather know who the cheaters were than care whether they are upset that they are branded, which might cause them to not want to re-up.

I personally would rather the person were marked than they were banned and come back. I suppose it depends on how likely a person is to cheat again by either punishment but just supposing one way or another as far as this is concerned doesn't seem to be real useful. It's gotta be tested.
As being a person who wouldn't dream of intentionally cheating on here it's hard to even look at the whole cheating thing without seeing red and wanting C's permanently branded over these peoples avatars. So I'm being very composed here when I say that I'm open to the idea of the brand lasting no less than one year. That's about enough time for these players to consider their punishments.

Very draconian, might this not become a badge of honor for some people?

This could probably be an alternative system of punishment to the "3 strikes" method, but I can't see them co-existing without downfalls.

as a TO i would not be barring someone from my tournament because of this sug.

if someone makes a mistake, give them their punishment and let them move on. constantly reminding everyone, even those who were unaware of an indiscretion months ago is mean.

Merged two very similar suggestions together.

Also, I wouldn't be for using the image from BG's post, because it looks identical to the team member badge.

I think I missed this one when I made: viewtopic.php?f=471&t=175821

There is a spot to put "scarlet letter" suggestions there. This could be indexed over there.
