Handling of Cheats

Concise description:
  • A lot of people have suggested that multi's are refused logon so that they deadbeat after 3 turns or are auto deadbeated so that they cannot continue in games.

I have been told previously that this is not possible as there is the right of appeal.

Allowing the guilty to continue to protect the rights of a very small minority seems like using a sldgehammer to crack a nut!!

Why not PM those who are found guilty of an offence PRIOR to implimenting the bust. Along the following lines.

    Dear user

You have been found guilty of 'multiple accounts/secret alliance' with users xxxxx and yyyyyy.

The following actions will be taken if: 1/ You do not respond. 2/ Your appeal is rejected.

Account xxxxxx will lose premium and will have a score reset.
Account yyyyyyy will be blocked permanently.
Account zzzzzzz will be blocked from playing with account xxxxxxx with both account having a score reset.

If you wish to appeal against this decision, please submit your appeal, via e-ticket within two days of this PM detailing the basis of your appeal.

If this method were implimented then the accounts could be auto deadbeated once the process was completed. I should imagine that very few would appeal or even respond. The appeals should be processed as quickly as possible.

The multi accounts can then be deadbeated with immediate effect once this process has been followed.

In terms of those found guilty of secret alliances then all players found guilty should be blocked from moving in the singles games they are playing together. A new tool will be needed that can manually deadbeat players within individual games.

Specifics:
  • PM accused who are found guilty of cheating prior to implimenting the punishment

This will improve the following aspects of the site:
  • Fairer handling of those who do have a valid excuse.
  • Fairer to members caught up in games with cheats as immediate deadbeat of those games can be implimented.

delboy, accounts are not deleted. This would put a lot of strain on the server, also, how would people look at games that had involved that player. You can leave the first and third parts with the banning and score reset option and the blocking option, but please remove the delete account option.

So what happens to peoples multi accounts? are they simply blocked from accessing them?

Yes. The first time someone is busted, if one of the accounts is premium, it is turned into a freemium, the rest are blocked; if all the accounts are freemium, they are all blocked until the person pays for premium. For subsequent busts, all accounts are blocked until the person pays for premium.

There are already 3 active threads on this from just the past few days? Was there a big multis bust or such?

Anyway, can't the threads be combined?

HERE are at least most of the related threads. I omitted the one you made a while back because it was almost identical to another thread.

This is the link to the Notify other players thread
In addition to the notification idea, this has a poll with other options for voting. You MAY vote for more than one, since they can work together.

When the "busted" multis got the PM, wouldn't they just join as many games as they could, so they could finish them all?

since the email comes after they are no longer allowed to join games. Also the reason they arent force to deadbeat is because they have a right to appeal the ban what happens if they are banned force to db then once they db the appeal goes through and found innocent because of something the can show they didnt before was it fair for them their score now sucks even though they did nothing

game finder option : precise the game winner

I suggest add a new game finder option :

As we could precise a player in the finder, we could precise the winner name of the game.
The finder will only give games won by this player, and no all this game.

I was going to make this suggestion, but found this one buried away. If it's the same as what I'm thinking, I would really like there to be a way to search only the games that a player has WON, and not all of their games combined. It would help with tournaments, for sure, and could probably be put forth for some other uses.

[Bumb.]

This option enables members to use the Game Finder to search for games by their winner.
