MapRank Oddity

Was MapRanking myself to see if I've graduated from the SoC when I noticed something rather odd.

The only games I've played with SoC settings are SoC Basic Terminator "tournament" games, of which I've played 24 and won 5.
So, if I search in Game Finder for games with me, whether I select the SoC tournament from the dropdown or check off the SoC settings (6 & 7=player, standard & terminator, classic, auto, seq, esc, unltd, no fog, no trench, no round limit, casual), I see the same 24 games.

Now, if I select the SoC tournament from the dropdown, then hit MapRank, MapRank tells me I've won 5 of 24 games and gained 281 points.
BUT, if I select the settings, not the tournament, and hit MapRank, MapRank tells me I've won 6 of 26 games and gained 432 points.

Any guesses as to what's going on here?

I decided to explore which settings were not being handled the same by Map Rank. If you search with the same settings except allowing any number of players, you also get 26 games. So I searched for the same settings with 2-5 or 8 players, and you have two such games: Game 10281961 from Elric's SoS, Terminator Invitational, which you lost, and Game 10841515 from how well do u really know the classic map, which you won. That explains the 5 out of 24 vs. 6 out of 26 issue. I have also just noticed that there may be some unexpected behaviour on the Game Finder page due to interactions between the new remembered values, Map Rank and possibly the Saved Searches script. So you when you thought you had the settings and not the tournament for Map Rank, you may have had nothing in the Number Of Players boxes and picked up those two non-SoC games.

It makes sense for it to be those two games. Thank you for that, ender.

The thing is, though, even if I do check off only 6 and 7 players, MapRank still picks up those two games. In fact, MapRank even says: "Options: Number of Players: 6,7 ..." while showing 6 from 26 in the Win/Loss column.
Is there anything I can do to fix this?
I'm asking because I'm planning on posting in the "Am I a Graduate?" thread, and I don't want to get credit for games that aren't really SoC settings.

Well, something odd is perhaps going on, but for now why not just select the tournament if that gives you the results you expect? I'm not familiar with the requirements for SoC graduation.
Also, why are you checking Standard?
I know there is more to this, but I need to get to bed.

It's not up to me - in the "Am I a Graduate?" Thread, the Academy Team asks you to MapRank yourself on all games with SoC settings - not just SoC games, and they include Standard in there.

I figured it out: Map Rank doesn't know about round limits. If you leave out the "No Round Limits" restriction, then, in addition to the 24 games, those settings pick up two games of yours with a 20 round limit from the how well do u really know the classic map tournament. Looks like Map Rank needs an update.

And now I realize that the points I won and lost in the two games we had thought were the problem didn't add up to 151 (432-281), but those two do.
Thank you ever so much, ender. Now, how do we make that update happen, and ASAP?

I am on a holiday weekend, so I may have time to come up with an update, then I will run it past sherkaner, who is lead maintainer on Map Rank.

I found smthg weird in map rank too.
So if map rank myself. I find :

Colonel 2605 points 1605 from 4019(40%)

Which is actually correct.

But if I go in game finder, then map rank myself without clicking anything I find :

Colonel 1625 points 1605 from 4019(40%)

Well map rank find all the game, but somehow calcul a different total of points...

Yes, there does seem to be a discrepancy there. I will try to take a closer look soon, but this weekend is out.

I think the difference is that when you Map Rank yourself from Game Finder, it doesn't count the 1000 points you started with - just the 1600+ you've earned in games, which is why it says +1638 under "Points" instead of just 1638.
Adjusting for that, though, there's still a 20-point discrepancy - your score is 2618, and I can see that Map Ranking you from the sidebar, but Map Ranking you from Game Finder says you've gained 1638 points, which should put you at 2638.

+20 from an unfinished terminator?

Not terminators, but if you map rank yourself on active games you get 3 hits which add up to the extra 20 points, then search for active games on those maps (only did it for poker club) and it gave one hit - a finished speed game

edit: forget that, for some reason 2 minutes games were checked, probably just a fluke that those 3 games were worth 20 points

I've noticed that MapRank needs a medals update. It doesn't yet have platinum medals, nor does it include all of the other medals. I don't think it includes Clan medals.
