Hey chip. Recently I have been having some trouble. Some of my games have not had the "Turn Watch" link recently on the "My Games" page.

I am not sure. I think Game 4446264, among others, but I have gone into the games an clicked the Add This Game link that you provided. I was able to get that to work.

This seems like a great add-on, but I've installed it, and it shows "active" in Greasemonkey, but I don't see the menu in the sidebar, nor any place to add games. Am I missing something?

I have BOB and Map Rank GL installed and working, so GM and FF seem not to be the issue.

I think it has caused some issues on my case also, as I have to turn grease monkey off during my playing, because it won't allow me to distribute some troops on the map or even refresh it when others are playing!

Chip:

Was just thinking, can you add an "Add all games on page" button? So that for example on the My Games page you can quickly add in games that were not in the Turn Watch list. I don't add in to Turn Watch games that are on the Awaiting Players as a rule and with a lot of games on the current list when an Awaiting Players games does go live I tend to miss adding it to list..

I am seeking an amendment to the game history which will allow this script to run fast and not slow the browser down.

Hey Chipv, I am not able to watch turn since they moved the maps on the new server... does it have to do anything with it?

Thanks

I am proposing to either rewrite or dispose of Turn Watch.

I'd like to make it more useable and faster to load by using the new Conquer Club API.

This would mean potentially losing:

Alerts on attacks, teammate's turns, other people's turns, last turn replay (the popup map), probably more stuff.

Can people let me know what they would like to be retained if there is still enough interest in this script please?

I don't know what the new API will bring to CC, but if they don't provide the who's turn and what was done, etc... then this app would be really good for the "Extra" mile!

I use it a lot for all the tournaments I am hosting, then I know when games are on, the development of them and also who wins!

I was actually able to see the last turn of someone winning a game and posting in my thread his victory faster then him as he was winning the game! :p

As long as it can show when it is my turn, that is basically all that I use it for.

Not in favour of losing anything from Turn Watch.

Chipv,

I only just started using your script before it stopped working, but I was impressed. I also use ConquerTell but I find 5 mins too long between monitoring at critical times in a game, and I liked being alerted.

I looked at your script when it stopped working to see if it was anything I could fix to keep it running but there were, for example, too many places with "http://www.conquerclub.com", for me to see what was going on.

From this cursory examination, Your idea to rewrite sounds like a good one.

Also for us poor users who start doubting our sanity, can you leave some sort of heading when it stops working with a link to here. I reinstalled about 5 times before I looked through the code to find this forum.

Thanks again for the script even if you let it rest.

Feature request:
Automatically remove archived games from the list of watched games.

I don't like to have to remove games manually, but at the same time, I like to watch games I've been eliminated from (or recently finished games) for chat and/or teammate's moves. As a compromise, how about removing all games that are marked as archived. (easiest way would be checking the chatbox for 'enabled' attribute)

right-click the monkey icon in your status bar, and un-check turn watch.

Firebug shows the image url as http://www.conquerclub.com/maps/.thumb.png (Game Numbers 5289945, 5284039, 5191337, and 5287264, all my games)

The same here, I thought it might have been part of the static images relocation being instigated by the site staff.

EDIT: I think I've found the culprit.

Code: Select all
ul.innerHTML = "<li><table width=100% cellspacing=0 cellpadding=0><tr><td class=\"miniblock\"><a href=\"http://www.conquerclub.com/game.php?game=" + gameid[gameno] + "&full_log=Y\"><img alt=\"X\" class=\"miniblock minimap\" width=25 height=17 title=\"Go To Game " + gameid[gameno] + "\" src=\"http://www.conquerclub.com/maps/" + image + ".thumb.png\"></a></td><td><a style=\"padding:4px 0px\" id=\"show" + gameid[gameno] + "\" href=\"javascript:void(0);\"><span id=\"span" + gameid[gameno] + "\" " + update[gameno] + ">" + strikel + (player - elim) + "/" + player + "p" + round + " " + tourind + striker + "</a></td><td style=\"text-align:center\" class=\"mini\"><a style=\"padding:4px 1px 3px 0px\" href=#box><img title=\"Show Map\" id=box" + gameid[gameno] + " src=\"http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/styles/prosilver/theme/images/icon_search.gif\"></a></td><td style=\"text-align:center\" class=\"mini\"><a style=\"padding:4px 3px\" href=\"javascript:void(0);\"><span title=\"Remove\" class=\"errormsg-inline\" id=\"remove" + gameid[gameno] + "\" ><b>X</b></span></a></td></td></tr></table></li>" + html;

This little snippet from the above jumble looks familiar, does it not? ;)
Code: Select all
src=\"http://www.conquerclub.com/maps/" + image + ".thumb.png\"

I would hazard a guess from stripthegremlin's post that the 'image' variable is no longer acquiring and transmitting it's intended data.

I haven't even looked at this script for ages - yes it points to old locations for image files, that's why they're not showing.

Version 2.0.8 fixes thumbnail problem.

Click on Latest Version in left menu Installed to get new version.
(I have also fixed this so it tells you when new updates are)

Btw the fix was not as easy as suggested above... but easy nonetheless.
