Have you tried coding my 26 unique colours with code letters in a battle royal?

If not is it because it's difficult to code, or have you just never thought to try it?

I suspect running a turn based non hasbro strategy game is pretty busy, especially with the change over, so I can't fault you if you never thought to try. I'm curious about this though.

Well now I'm quite confused. This isn't a suggestion. Why would you place a short time limit on a question then move it here?

Are you suggesting the question forum is not the right place for me to ask a question?

As for an answer... I know of nothing they have tried with a 26 color system. But, that doesn't mean it wasn't tried.

I'm not trying to be disruptive, I'm just curious if they have tried to use the colours in a game. The battle royals seem to be running with 8 colours, maybe they can't use more colours for some reason.

I don't know if it's possible but no one thought to try it or if it's impossible at this time due to difficulty in coding or something between.

Is there a better place to ask questions?

I think you're in the right place ...

I think that it was easier to make BR games with the current set-up, because your color idea was around and would have been known when they put in BRs.

I believe that the issue is that we needed more than 26 colors, but invariably some of those colors would be close to each other. So, they settled on the current system that "re-colors" people every time the game refreshes so that you can get more contrast between certain players just by refreshing. That's my take anyway.

That is part of why I'm curious. In my suggestion the colours look like a great idea but I think without trying them in game play, certain issues can't be known.

I seem to have problems with cyan and green some times. It is not a colour blind issue. But I need to use the codes.

i think it was because they had the color codes implemented that this would pose less of a problem.
and some colors would be too close to eachother for me and other color impaired people..

That is like every other BR game, the colors after the first 8 change every time that you refresh.

How many colours are there?

Do they have enough for one per player?

It is nice to see they are using more than 8. I think last time I played Battle Royal they still only used 8. I suppose I should have looked at a current one before asking but it was kind of tricky to find my way into a current one. All the completed ones showed 8 colours.

I was confused, presuming they still only used the 8.

There have always been the extra colours in the lists of players and stats. Unfortunately, they don't carry over into the game log and chat windows, so everybody after the first eight is grey in chat.

And I think agent was right, because some of the colours are so close as to be indistinguishable, somebody at some point (no idea who or when) simply said "to hell with it, no matter what we do we'll have to use colour codes anyway." I've seen a lot of talk about colourblind tests and stuff, but quite honestly it's quite difficult to find more than 15 or 20 colours that perfect-sighted people can distinguish reliably, to say nothing of 50.
