Can you be Demoted?

Lets say you complete 5 games with 1050 points. In the next couple games you lose some points and get less than 1000. Do you get demoted?
High Score: 1384 w/ 42% games won

Yes. The ranks are based on your score and amount of games.

Alright thanx, I saw that page but didn't know if once you got the promotion you kept it for good.
