Hey,

I have been playing this map a few times now, but I do not understand how you go from one place to another.
I found this is the most unclear map I have played.
Can someone give me a trick to understand how you know that one region border another??

well, it is possible to navigate without BOB, but not very very clear...
i rechecked the map, and yes there is a way to compile how it is working.

Light blue areas= seas (there are different shades of blue)

seas can attack any land it touches. Some land areas are completely encircled by seas (they are called: islands!) and as such that island can only attack the sea that it is in.

Land can attack any sea region it touches and any land region it touches.

Now just don't ask me how the bonuses work.

It's fully possible to navigate any map without BOB. The ice and tundra (resp. white and brown) are impassable, for the rest it's just anything that touches eachother. You'll probably need to have the map size at large to see everything well though.
I would call myself somewhat of an expert on the map, so send me an invite for 1v1 or dubs if you still need any help.
