I'd like to point out that the big guys have already decided that the next competition will be 'Whac-a-Bung' to actually give the community a challenge. Optimus Prime was spectacularly quick to give his support for the next contest for some reason.

if this means we get to play you than you stole my idea. I already stated I would put up 500+ games as the challenge :(

Presumably games labelled Whac-A-Mod 2 containing no mods (some mods were rather slow joining the games they set up, leaving games out there in public without joining for several seconds...).

Not sure why players that whac'd mods the most time were mentioned since we were supposed to whac a mod and then not play again to give others a chance. Just pointing that out.

Now the masses have truly been satisfied; those fancy little medals oughta keep 'em paying too! And we got more fun and games in the "Colosseum" just like the grand days of Rome.

Ok then... Then allow me just to point out that you seem to have some problems with your reading comprehension. What people were supposed to do was...
The Sportsmanship Rule...
As there are only a limited number of moderators and a rather large number of public members, we are asking that everyone be courteous and play in only one game at a time. If you want to join game after game, that is fine, but please do not join multiple games at once in order to keep spots available to as many people as possible.

... i.e. if people expect to have public games just sitting around waiting for them, well, too bad. And besides, there were plenty of games lying around during that weekend that took forever to fill up. So your whining here is just meaningless.

Good game folks. It looks like the Volunteers did pretty well in 1vs1, which is always nice to see. :D

The problem was that the rules evolved as the weekend went on. First, we had Optimus Prime telling us that one at a time only applied to speed games (see here), then Andy Dufresne said that once you had won, or even played several games, you should step aside (see here). (I would quote those posts here, but I don't see how to quote a post in a locked topic.) I know I would have played at least one more game if I had known about OP's interpretation of the rules. Maybe this could be made explicit for the next contest, as well as a reminder to keep an eye on the forum thread for updates, since clearly, a little flexibility in view of supply and demand is called for.

Despite being one of those games that didn't count (with you, alstergren, but all my fault for joining an empty game), I had a lot of fun and look forward to Whac-A-Mod 3 (The Return of the Cooks)!

I should just like to point out, that Eyestone and me only played 3 games. I joined them and sent invites.

Further, these 3 games were joined on the 6th, that's after the announcement that the compo was being extended. So if anyone else had wanted these slots, they had plenty of oportunity to take them.

What I quoted was the explicit and official rule for the contest (a rule which hardly could be misunderstood), see:
http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=98086#p2236903

The only thing that is unfortunate in that case is that some mods apparently didn't read up on the official announcement and spread mis-information (was not aware of those quotes you linked to myself).

You did play a lot more games than any other community member. More than one or two moderators actually.

Well done all the same.
