Cyan = #00FFFF
Teal = #008080
CC uses #0CC, which expands to #00CCCC
So technically, it's not actually cyan, but it's a bit closer to cyan (51 increments of luminosity) than it is to teal (76 increments).
And, oh yeah, what CC calls "silver" definitely isn't. Silver is #C0C0C0, but CC uses #7F7F7F, which is just one increment away from #808080, "gray", but 65 increments from proper "silver". And "slate gray" is #708090, giving it a slight blue-ish hue (like actual slate).
While we're at it, CC "green" (#009a04) isn't really green (#008000).
No freaking wonder everyone's confused!

The accused are suspected of calling the colour teal and I had already and most importantly firstly called that colour cyan. C&A would be issuing bans on mentioning the colour which shalt not be named. The horror, and amusement in it all would be saccharine sweetness with a bitter twist.
