Symmetry wrote:Yeah- again I know I'm not going to be popular for saying this, but the main attraction of this site is for people who like playing Risk. Fewer people play that game now, but the reason it was so succesful was that it was fun to play.

Most people who know me know that I've always been freemium, and that I stopped playing a while ago, while still posting in the community forums. One of the reasons I stopped playing was that the types of games grew distant from the basic game. It was increasingly hard to find a map that followed the basic tactics. And it was increasingly hard to find a set of rules that stuck to the basics.

Most new players here are likely to be confused. Fog of war rules, bombardment, speed games, instant victories? Join the site and you will lose your first game, not because you are bad at Risk, but because you have no idea how to play the map that players on this site created, and you don't know how the rules work.

You will lose points to those people, and your first experience will be a loss in ranking. Not the best introduction.

I am of the opposite opinion. Sticking to Risk is IMHO a big mistake. What is so different between Risk and the other strategy wargames? I would advertise to all strategy players, not only to Risk lovers.

About the different settings, if number of players was high enough, you would always find a game with the settings you like. But in fact there are not so many settings at it seems. Yes, there are many choices to make, but they don't lead to significatively different games. I bet many people leave the site when they learn that there is no limit to how far troops can move in one turn.

It is 16189 as of the 6th of October.

CC is declining. Or rather, going down the shitter. And does lack care? Hell no, he's still making a heap of money from this site, so what does he care? He has other real life stuff he does, this is just like pocket money.

serious question joshy boy...what the f*ck is your problem with CC?

It is so clear that you hate cc, pretty much ever since you were removed as a moderator...why do you bother to spend time here? You seem so miserable and yet you keep coming back for more. Do you really think that is how life should be lived?

Well, nice to hear from my number one fan.

What the f*ck is my problem?? You really asking this?? I enjoy a good moan, and this website gives me the perfect opportunity. Conquer Club is not the fun and enjoyable place it used to be, and it doesn't matter what the paying customers say, the admin don't seem to care. I'm just telling it how it is, and Bruce failed to provide any evidence that lack actually cared and rather opted for a "it's x because I say so, haha, end of story" which is pretty childish. If you don't like it ljex, there is such a thing as a foe button which hides my posts from your delicate and fragile brain.

There are two reasons, and only two reasons why I am still here. Number one is that I pay to come here, and not using my premium membership would be a total waste of money. Number two is BoganGod and the rest of the pirates. I love those guys. I guess CC is a bad addiction kind of like alcoholism or smoking, and is tough to break.

Oh, and free owenshooter.

Lack cares, but nothing gets done. I'd rather lack didn't care but got things done.

yes her i go your number one fan, its funny how all you do is complain...this must not be good and yet you keep coming back. You must be broke if $25 for a yearly membership is worth your misery. I dont bother to use the foe feature...well aside from one person and i dont really care if you complain but for fucks sake it gets old at some point.

Yes, I am "broke". "Skint" we call it. I'm glad you perceive that I am miserable, it makes me laugh, like your comment that "all I do is complain".

You don't care? Then shut the f*ck up.

I have noticed a few updates of late. normally the server goes offline for between 5 and 30 mins, but these are performed at 5am server time (unfortunately it's 7pm and playtime for me).

Not everything that gets done would be visible to the end user, the back end or "engine" of CC will need tuning/updating before we see any major changes I guess.

I do not play games on CC anymore, except for the occasional 1v1 game that ends with me not taking my turns at some point. I still post though because the forum is pretty fun and most importantly I can post whenever I like to. I don't have to post everyday if I don't have time to. I think most people join this site when they're in a stage of their life when they've got plenty of time (I know I did). As life proceeds you get into times when you don't have much spare time and let's be honest there are a lot of things more important than an internet game so you end up not visiting very often. Which on CC means you deadbeat. Now if there only was a game option that allowed for longer turns that 24 hours we might see a lot more players being able to keep playing. A 72 hour turn option would mean you only need to visit once every third day. But as we all know suggestion takes time time and even more time before they get implemented.

Or maybe 48 hours. It's true that being forced to play once each 24 hours it's too much for some moments in life which could explain why some profiles are not very popular here.
