Feudal War question- dropped Realm of Might

This may be brought up elsewhere in this forum, but my question is how best to play a standard, fog, escalating game w/ multiple players and you are dropped Realm of Might? This appears to be only castle area on map that doesn't have a 2 territory you can bombard for cards. I've already looked through the Official Guide on Feudal War and didn't see anything pertaining to this obvious disadvantage. Thanks for any well thought out input.

First turn: take one tert
Second turn: take two, but leave an opening on each side of the castle to go through
Third turn, either attack out through one of the 10s or bombard

Since it's escalating, you'll either need to continue taking terts or bombarding that former neutral 10. You're in a 5 player game, so there's an empty castle. There isn't really one way that is right or wrong, but I would probably hold back on moving out because if you run into someone, it usually just turns into the two of you basically suiciding and whoever is left from the fight will be vulnerable to elimination from someone else. And the increased terts don't really get you much in comparison with the card trades.

So, I would bombard number 1 (the left side) for cards and wait for a bit probably.

Thanks chap, you even tailored that to my particular situation. I pretty much did that took 1 terr a turn until I got to the point where I'm now bombarding for spoils on a former 10 neutral spot. I'm now waiting for the herd to thin itself out and the spoils reach a proper point to attack. Any thoughts on rules of thumb re: spoils cash value and when to move out? 25 troops, 30....?

Eh... It's tough to say really, there are so many neutrals to go through, that if you're wanting to go through and wipe everyone out like a game on Classic, you can almost forget it, because once the sets get high enough for that, people would have too many men.

If two people start fighting, maybe peek out and see if you can pick up the remains. Other than that, when you have a sizable stack, maybe move out and take Fol? Then you can inch along the bottom of the map taking terts and perhaps another castle.

But, for you to win, you won't be able to take all 4 out on one turn most likely.

rule of thumb never come out before R7,8 or just sit tight probably find in some greedy land grabber will come in for a group hug.
on you bombard note hit rom 7 for spoils only if you intend to come out that way soon as you hit rom 7 your making your self week to attack. if you intend to sit and wait it out take rom 1 for spoils

Thanks codie and nice avatar, lol. I had a land grabber run into my large stack and w/ no chance to take it he slammed/suicided into it. My next turn, I took him down to 1 territory which I had hidden b/ I couldn't do kill/cash and wanted to harvest an extra card from him. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to card and I killed him that next turn for a cash. Problem is now down to 3 players and other 2 have been building which I would have liked to have done, but maybe it will work out for me. I still have plenty of troops and cashes are up to 40 troops. We'll see, fingers crossed. Not sure if I could have played this any differently thus far.
