Active games mean nothing without take into consideration settings and map structure.
The hive, for example, is 350 regions, doodle earth is 18, but only a fool can think that the former is more popular than the latter.
Just the games on hive take more than on doodle due the size of the map.
Active games don't prove anything about popularity.
Popularity is games started x days...but afaik can't be done.
